It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.
I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.
Make sure you link up to the Blog Hop at Brian’s Home and get the code to put on your blog. Then visit all the participants.
I’m thankful I’m retired. I worked for many years and enjoyed it for the most part, but nothing beats retirement. We get up when we want, we go where we want and we do what we want. That hurried stressful and demanding work is behind us. We stay active, but we don’t miss work one bit.
I’m thankful that I get to spend my days with my husband. He’s such a jewel. I remember all the times that I saw him over the years and thought how handsome he was and how I’d love to be his other half. I knew it never would be, but a girl can dream. Little did I know that my dream would come true.

What a great feeling being able to get up when you want and not have to live by an alarm clock. That is my favorite part about my days off, not hearing that alarm go off.
It is a great feeling indeed, Ann. Your day will come and you’ll love it. 🙂
Retirement sure sounds fun, but dad thinks he won’t be able to sit still when his time comes. Plus, he’s pretty sure mom’s not going to want him just hanging around all day every day, even though they are each other’s best friend. They just celebrated their 10th anniversary!
We’re getting ready to celebrate our 21st anniversary. We’re going on a cruise. On our boat, not a cruise ship. 🙂
We always love hearing your love story 🙂 Being retired would be awesome for mom. She has so many things she would like to do but work gets in the way. Hopefully one day it will happen.
I remember work getting in the way and I was so busy all the time. One day you’ll get to kick back and enjoy doing what you want. 🙂
Love this, Sandee💗So Thankful to be here on your bloggie today😸Pawkisses for a Happy Week ahead🐾😽💞
Thank you so much, Little Binky. Pawkisses to you and a hug to your personal assistant. 🙂
Awww..that is such a sweet thankful. Have a great day. XO
Yes we are a couple of lovebirds for sure. 🙂
You and your hubby seem to be a match made in heaven! Dreams do come true! Happy Thursday!💖
We are and we both know it. Happy Thursday. 🙂
😊
Beautiful list of thankfulness. I thought that when hubby and I retired, we will get on each other’s nerve but thankful that we are enjoying each other’s company.
We are doing the same, Nancy. We love being with each other. 🙂
I am very thankful that this weekend both of my children will be in my home. It has been ages since both have been here at the same time.
Oh how fun and I know you’ll enjoy it very much. 🙂
I am very thankful to be retired, but I do need a break from hubby and the 24/7 gets on my nerves.
We have a alone time during the day and that’s a good thing. We come together in the evening and read, have dinner and watch a bit of Netflix or Amazon Prime and then it’s time for bed. 🙂
I’m thankful that after Levi’s first professional grooming appt at the place where Dakota was the PERFECT, well-behaved client for 13 years, that they are actually allowing Levi to come back. BOL!! Happy Thursday!
Oh no is Levi being difficult. Happy Thursday. 🙂
Sandee I 100% agree about retirement…I loved my job at NC State U and all the wonderful friends I made and the memories. I so enjoyed reading your thankfuls…Dreams do come true.
Hugs Cecilia
Yes retirement is scary at first, but it’s wonderful. We’re enjoying it to its fullest. Yes, sometimes dreams do come true. Big hug. 🙂
Your thankful list made me smile so big. Hugs!
I’m happy about that. They make me smile every single day. Big hug, my friend. 🙂
Retirement rocks and my Hubby does too! 🙂 Happy Thursday, Sandee! xo
We’re both very lucky gals, Bette and we know it. Happy Thursday. 🙂
Aww, why didn’t you think it would ever happy with your hubby? It’s so lovely when you hear a dream has come true, and you’re still together now, still cruising & still talking! 😉 Happy Thursday, Sandee – I hope you both have a lovely evening xx
We were each married to other people. I divorced 10 years before Zane and I got together. Hubby is a very loyal person. He was not happy in his marriage, but he would have never left. She told him to get out and he did. Little did she know he would never go back. I knew him better than she did. So he came over to my work place with one of his buddies and asked me out for coffee. That’s when he told me that his wife told him to get out. I was doing the happy dance hearing that news. 🙂
What a wonderful story! ~hugs~ You make me smile. I am thankful that my husband and I have made each other laugh since 1989. 🙂 We had our ups and downs, but retirement took a lot of stress away. Hurray for free time and relaxed psyches.
Yes indeed. We are both lucky gals that’s for sure. Big hug. 🙂
Amen to those thankfuls, we highly recommend retirement too! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Retirement is wonderful for sure. Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. 🙂
Those are wonderful thankfuls. I am also thankful for dreams come true (especially MY hubbie!)
See there are many of us that have that thankful. Lucky us. 🙂
Go ahead, rub it in that retirement is good! 😉
It is good, but we’re in our sunset years. You’re not. Look at it that way. 🙂
Like you and Zane we are so thankful to have each other! and retirement is way under rated!!! Cheers and hugs!
I know you are, Kathe. I saw you two together and we’re both lucky gals. Cheers and hugs back. 🙂
Wonderful thankfuls ~ Retirement is great and your hubby sounds like a love ~

You’d love my hubby too. He’s a wonderful guy and ever so kind. Hugs and kisses to you both. 🙂
I think my husband likes being retired from working days. I never had a job to be retired from, just little part time things once in awhile, but I’m glad he is home and we can do what we want.
Hope your day has been good, and that your Friday gets off to a great start! <3
I worked all my life as hubby did, but it’s help our income stream in our retirement. We’re having a great day, Barbara. 🙂
We’re thankful we all got rescued and now live in a big house with big windows and sunspots. Our mom isn’t retired yet, but she’s looking forward to it. She’s thankful she was able to buy this house 6 years ago after being a renter forever. We live in the Los Angeles area so houses are really overpriced and hard to afford if you’re just one person, but she did it so she’s very thankful, even if we haven’t replaced the hideous pink carpet in the living room yet. We like to claw it up, which is just fine with her.
I know you are and I’m having fun getting to know all of you. Thank you for that. Pink carpet? Claw that to pieces. 🙂
Dad says he is really glad he is retired too. It is nice he is with us instead of going off to a silly job. Great thankfuls
Yes he is tending to your every need. It’s what dads do. 🙂
Happy Thankful Thursday!! Such lovely things to be thankful for. A great husband and a wonderful retirement together doing all fun things. Thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful rest of your day.
We are having a great time for sure. We’re very happy being retired. 🙂
thankful for a beautiful day and a wonderful conversation with my daughter.
Those are great days indeed. Happy Thursday. 🙂
I’m with 100% on retirement. It’s the good life.
It is a most wonderful life. 🙂
Retirement is lovely. Enjoy it.
It sure is, Marsha. 🙂
I LOVE being retired! People kept asking me what I would do when I finally did and I felt like maybe I should do something, but you know, I LOVE the few found freedom. I have not yet done anything I said I might do, except read and I’ve probably read 50-60 books in the last 5 months. I’ve not built the website I said I would and I’ve not made any art, I’ve not sold any of the hubby’s stuff but I am quite happy. I would love to go and visit my friends and family though, so I am quite looking forward to these things loosening up in the next 6 months.
Cat The brat Marv) tread on my keyboard while I was in the kitchen…I had not yet thanked you for your hops, and visiting and commenting! Sandee, you ROCK!
It took me some months to figure out what I wanted to do. Did pretty much what you’re doing and then one day I was rested and ready for adventures. That’s where the boat came in. You’ll do what you want when you’re ready. 🙂
Dreams that come true are the best!!! ♥
Yes they are, Jan. Another smooch to Luke. 🙂
I love hearing about your love story!
And a love story we have too, Jen. 🙂
