It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.
I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.
Make sure you link up to the Blog Hop at Brian’s Home and get the code to put on your blog. Then visit all the participants.
I’m thankful for routine check-ups. This lock-down set all of us back for regular doctor visits. I was six months late on going to the eye doctor and when I finally got to go I found out I had a cataract. That’s been taken care of.
My regular teeth cleaning was offset too and I finally got in and found out I need a crown replaced. As my dentist explained not taking care of the crown could cause me to have a root canal down the road. I never want a root canal. I’ll have the crown replaced by Thanksgiving.
I know many are scared to go see their doctors, but I strongly urge you to go to your regular visits. They take every precaution and if you do as they ask you’re most safe and so are they. You can prevent issues from becoming much bigger issues.

I’m sorry you were so late getting to the eye doctor but glad you got the appointments you needed eventually. It’s worrying that so many diagnoses, not to mention treatments, have been delayed so significantly. I need a dental check up too, but that’s one I’m secretly glad to be late with! I hope you get the crown replaced soon so save any extra bother like a dreaded root canal in future.
I’m thankful that I’ve got a doctor’s appointment in person today for on ongoing problem that’s getting worse. It’s been very difficult getting an appointment at all so I’m grateful to get it.
Have a lovely Thursday, Sandee! xx
I go back on the 17th for the permanent one. I’m happy about that. You have a lovely Thursday too, Caz. 🙂
I agree that every precaution will save us a lot of problem later on. Grateful to doctors and dentists.
Yes indeed. I had two issues when I finally got in. 🙂
You’re right. We must take good care of ourselves and see our doctors and the dentist to stay healthy.
Yes we do need to do that, Miss Molly. 🙂
The only thing I can think of right now as I’m thankful that we found our big beautiful Beau!
I’m so happy for all three of you, Sandra. 🙂
Good advice. Mom isn’t afraid at all just doesn’t like all the stuff you have to do to go to a doctor these days, but she is slowly starting to make appts for herself.
I’m not afraid of it either. I worked in a very unhealthy environment. 🙂
Since I’ve been working the entire time it doesn’t bother me to be out in public. I just hate all the jumping through hoops to get anything done.
I hear you, but we comply as you do. Happy Thursday, my friend. 🙂
We’ve been going to the Doctor and Dentist too, it really is important. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
When we’re older it’s so important. Thanks for hosting this blog hop. 🙂
Excellent advice! Yes, i agree that getting to the doctor/dentist on time is very important.
Have a blessed and beautiful Thursday!
I’m happy we finally got in to get back to our regular visits. 🙂
Happy Thursday!
Wishing you a wonderful day! <3
Happy Thursday to you too, Barbara. 🙂
It’s important to maintain our bodies so we stay healthy. I had a root canal years ago and it was not a pleasant experience. Happy Thursday!
Yes it is, Eugenia. Happy Thursday, my friend. 🙂
Very good point. Dad had a procedure recently that was a bit late but he is so glad he got it done
We were all off by about 6 months. When we’re older that’s a long time. 🙂
Oh yes I was a bit fearful of all the recent dental work but if is over. Very impressed at how my periodontist and staff took such extra precautions and thought ‘outside’ the box to keep things as normal as possible
Hugs Cecilia
We all did what was required and now we’re good to go. It’s a good thing. Hugs. 🙂
I needed a dental crown this year, myself. This coming Monday, meanwhile, I’m scheduled for another diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound on an existing cyst. Ugh… But you’re right that we are fortunate to be availed these health check-ups and should all follow through if possible. ~hugs~
Yes and it feels good to get things done. Two more weeks of eye drops and I’ll be done with those too. I’m so ready for that. 🙂
I’m thankful for many things- my sweet husband is #1…..right now as I write he is remodeling part of our living room- photos will follow in the next few days! Cheers and hugs to you and Zane!
Oh I can’t wait to see. He’s so talented. Hugs to you and Russell. Scritches to Miss Lucy. 🙂
Taking care of one’s teeth is so critical for optimal health, not just in the mouth but with major organs as well. Good luck with your crown replacement. 🦷
I know that and we don’t like to miss our appointments. We just couldn’t get it for so long. 🙂
yes, I agree ~ did the same med appts too ~ now I can relax for a few months ~ Great thankful list.
Xox from Angel and me ~ ^_^

I’ve got one more appointment for my permanent crown and I’m done for a bit. 🙂
Thankful for family and for a bright sunny day! ❤ xo
Yes indeed, Bette. 🙂
Well folks, I personally am thankful for all my blogging friends. You folks have been amazing, picking me up, and letting me sound off at you folks for all types of things! THanks.
I feel the same, Pam. I’m thankful for you. 🙂
I may be foolish, but I figure that the last place that I’m going to catch COVID-19 is at the dentist’s or eye doctor’s office.
I agree with you. They are taking ever precaution. I’m so happy I went. 🙂
Great thankfuls. And thank you for the reminder that i need to schedule my teeth cleaning. XO
I was shocked at all the things that had gone wrong and needed fixing. 🙂
What a wonderful thankful…and great advice!!
I’m very happy about all of this. 🙂
I’m slowly catching up on my health appointment. Dental=done. Eyes=almost done. General physical=January 2021. This reminds me I haven’t written in my gratitude journal for a while. Need to get back into that habit. X
My physical is in February. I’m up to date for now. 🙂
Glad you are able to get things taken care of. Mom needs to get two teeth crowned. She has been putting it off but it’s time now to get those appointments scheduled.!!!
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Poor Kaci has to have some teeth pulled. I, however, have no teeth problems.
That’s because you eat sunflower seeds. 🙂
I am glad you are seeing your doctors again. We have a lot of appointments to make up
Me too. I couldn’t believe all the things that needed fixing. 🙂
I was just at my Dr’s last month and was given a lecture over the 15 lbs that I gained.so I gott work on that,I can’t stop bingeing on junk food, but it’s better that boozing! Not by much but still
I hear you, Mike. No booze please. It will do you in if you do. 🙂
Sandee,I know it will, the drinking almost got me when I was living in West Sacramento, and I wrecked a Plymouth Duster by slamming ito a Bridge railing after jumping an 18’curb. I wish I had a picture of that wrecked duster.
Good for you for keeping up with your care! Our Mama is a bit behind, especially since the Dentist doesn’t take her insurance anymore so she needs to find a new Dentist that takes her insurance and she is also late for the eyes. Perhaps you have inspired her to get going on those two things. We hope you had a wonderful Thursday!
I’m happy to get these things done. Hope you had a wonderful Thursday too. 🙂
I had cataract surgery yesterday and today my eye is runny and sensitive to light but that’s it….no pain and I see better already.
Jean
Do the drops and you’ll be fine. 🙂
I have Guttana, a precursor to Fuch’s Dywtrophy. I use eye drop 3 times a day and a cream at night. Still have to lay on stuff to read it! So frustrating. But, I’m thankful that I can see at all.
Seeing at all is a very good thing. 🙂
Ugh, yeah no thank you on the root canal. My husband had to have a crown replaced too, Boy are they expensive!!
Take care 🙂
I’ve got my temporary in and go back the 17th for my permanent. I’m happy about that. 🙂
I am thankful you reminded me I need to do all those things! I’m so bad about procrastinating on them under normal circumstances, so now I’m even worse!
I’m so happy I went. I’ll get my permanent crown on the 17th. 🙂
