Thankful Thursday

It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.

I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.

Make sure you link up to the Blog Hop at Brian’s Home and get the code to put on your blog. Then visit all the participants.

I’m thankful that hubby and I are getting our haircuts this afternoon. We are so shaggy.

I’m thankful that I was able to care for my nails since I’ve not been to my nail spa for over two months. I found all the items I needed at Amazon and with the help of hubby I got the polish off, nails buffed and trimmed. They aren’t perfect, but they look far better. I’m thankful that Friday I have a nail appointment. Double Happy Dance today.

I’m thankful that I can get my dental appointment done this month. I missed my quarterly cleaning. I was thrilled to get a call that the office is now open again.

I’m thankful that the world is coming back to life. I’ve missed so many things. I know all of you have too.

What are you thankful for today?

I am not able to go for my haircut yet because barber and hair saloon are not permitted to open. I cut hubby’s hair and I am thankful I managed to trim my fringe. Thankful that getting essentials are almost back to normal. I am thankful that I had my dental appointment just before the lockdown. Hope to get the next appointment after the MCO is lifted. You have a wonderful thankful list.

That’s awesome that everything is opening back up there. Here, every county around us has gone into the green phase but we remain in yellow even though we have lower numbers than everyone else. Our governor is not a popular man right now.

Our dentists are hopefully partly opening next week. I need to get my bridge fixed that came out 3 weeks ago so I can smile again! There is a tentative date of July for hairdressers, but that is not definite yet.
Those of us shielding for 12 weeks have been told we can go out after 10 weeks with one other person socially distanced unless it is a family member you live with. We have made it through 10 1/2 weeks so we are taking a picnic up on to the moors this afternoon. It will be so good to get out!!

  4. My GBGV Life says:

Mom always does her own nails, so thankfully that wasn’t an issue. We are all starting to head off to the groomer, and Mom to the salon this month. It will feel good when all our furs and Mom’s hairs are back in order. Enjoy your appts!

  5. Eastside Cats says:

My nail salon is still closed, as is my hair stylist. Dentist is now open; awaiting a call to schedule my cleaning.
Am so very thankful for the folks who have worked during the lockdown, keeping our streets safe, our shelves stocked, and our loved ones healthy.

Got a pedicure (no man card required) last week. It was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo wonderful! There’s not a man on earth who shouldn’t get them. I can’t stand to look down when I’m out in public. Get with the program guys!

I have never heard someone be thankful for a dentist appointment – MOL! But given the circumstances, I get it.

WooHoo Sandee…happy happy hair day to you 2. We are cheering for you.
My son in law watched a hair cutting video on line that was similar to my daughter’s hair style. He cut it once in April,
she gave it a touch up coloring then washed it. She said he was pacing at the bathroom door til she finished drying. They were quite pleased. He told her hair cutting was stressful and to be sure to give her lady extra tip when she went to Jackie last Thursday. Jackie was quite impressed with SIL’s skills. LOL

I usually do my own toenails anyway, but the older I get, the harder it is on my back! LOL. One day I’ll treat myself to the spa. But haircuts are definitely in order for both hubby and I first!!

I haven’t gone back to my nail place, yet, even though they are open. My hubby needs a haircut and a dentist. Little by little, things are opening back up. Happy Thursday!

Oh my so many things to be thankful for….health, happiness and wonderful weather. Also thankful for the men and women who protect us: be it our brave police, amazing firemen and women and the nurses and doctors who put their lives on the line everyday.

  15. The OP Pack says:

Mom is still dealing with messy nails. She doesn’t have strong nails to start with and now she just keeps clipping away. She is trying to get the courage up to go to the salon. And the same for her dental cleaning. Dad had his this week and he felt very comfortable with all they were doing to keep everyone safe. So maybe she will make an appt. soon too.

I’ve taken all the polish off, trimmed my nails and toes and this afternoon the rest of the acrylic will come off my fingernails. There’s not much left. 🙂

I like your list of thankfulness. I just have been sad by the deterioration of our country. Some gal told me her hairdresser charged her a COVID fee. Another gal said their dentist charged them COVID fees too. Greed is unbelievable so I had to post my Scripture. I am thankjful for all the little things but I Need to desert social media. It is purely wicked and you can not get away from it. It is a well of hate and bitterness and evil. I hardly go there except to check for birthdays and my memories. Our son took his little phamily to Mount Rushmore. What a different world. So many activities are cost free. The little ones are enjoying it immensely. Which makes me SMILE. Thank you for all you do for us and Brian too. The cats are all so sweet it is fun to see. Enjoy and glad you have your appointments coming up. 🙂

I left the television behind a long time ago. the so called press couldn’t tell the truth to save their lives. They have an agenda and no matter what they are sticking to it. Sold out years ago. 🙂

Thankful that I was able to do my nails with Hubby’s help this week. It will be wonderful when things get back to normal. I haven’t had a perm and cut since December (usually go every 3 months for that). Thankful that we are well and are able to order online and even pick up groceries from our order. The hard-working people (employees) who are actually doing our physical shopping at local store are kind, thoughtful, gracious–thankful for all of them! 🙂

    • Sandee says:

Hubby helped with my nails and toes too. I do acrylic/shellac nails and all that is off now. My nails are in pretty sorry shape. Oh well. I had an appointment for today, but that’s been cancelled. I set up a new appointment for June 17th. Hope I get to go to that one. Happy weekend. 🙂

      • Bette A. Stevens says:

Oh how grateful we’ll be when we can get our professional mani-pedis again, Sandee! Glad to hear that you’ve booked an appointment. Will be a long time before I’ll be able to do that… The acrylic/shellac is wonderful and I sure to miss being pampered and looking lovely. 🙂 You have a wonderful weekend too!

    • Sandee says:

Yes and I’ll never take some thing for granted again. Like haircuts and manicures and pedicures. Toilet paper and paper towels. The list goes on and on. 🙂

  18. Jen says:

I was thankful to get away this week! We went to a cabin in the woods and just hid from the world. We fished (got skunked), paddled around in a boat and a kayak and just turned the world off. So nice!

I am happy to be back now. glad you get to go to the dentist. It was so nice for us to go too 🙂

    • Sandee says:

A perfect get away. We’re not gone anywhere yet, but I can see a cruise on our boat in the near future. I’m so ready. I did get a haircut yesterday though. That was most wonderful. 🙂
