Thankful Thursday

It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.

I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.

Make sure you link up to the Blog Hop at Brian’s Home and get the code to put on your blog. Then visit all the participants.

I’m thankful that boating season is right around the corner. We have our first cruise planned the end of this month. Can’t wait to get back out on the water.

I’m thankful that I worked so hard in my working years. It’s made my retirement most enjoyable. Having the wisdom to see this in my youth has paid off nicely.

I’m thankful for my health. Hubby and I are both thankful that we are able to do the things in our retirement that we want to do. Many aren’t that lucky.

Oh wow, so a cruise planned for the end of February? That’s definitely something to look forward to. I don’t think I’ll make it to retirement but my parents worked so hard through their working years to be able to retire as well, so I’m glad you and your hubby are able to do that and now enjoy yourselves a little. I’m hoping spring is around the corner for us in the grey and rainy UK, too. Fingers crossed! xx

Yes a cruise is in the works. The weather starts getting nice around mid-February. The almond trees have blossoms and hubby and I are ready to go boating. 🙂

I agree about working hard. Years ago many of my coworkers at the university left for higher paying jobs in the corporate world…more money but no built in pension plan like with the State and unfortunately they spent instead of saving now they are still working at least part time. Benefits with state employment are wonderful.

I’m thankful for the health that I have after dealing with my stroke, and all the problems that came with it. I’m not going to be the best but God has allowed be to enjoy the life He’s given me. He’s allowed me to enjoy cruising #14, my friends, Blogging friends. my family and especially my wife MaryLou.

Living for where you want to be in the end is smart indeed! Entrepreneur has done a masterful job with our finances so we can retire comfortably. I truly feel sorry for those not prepared for their expenses when they retire. Life is very expensive nowadays. Boating season sounds delightful! xoxo

Oh man. Your cruise is just days away. How exciting for you!! I’m so happy you thought ahead too! I like hearing about your wonderful life. 🙂 – I am thankful for my kids. They’re just good, kind people. I have a laundry list of all the things about them that I’m thankful for but their hearts definitely top the list. And my beautiful furry partner in crime, my pup Luci. She’s 14 and old age is settling in. I am thankful for every moment with her. <3 – Love you, Sandee. <3

You are definitely blessed to be able to enjoy your retirement to the fullest! I’m always hearing of people who retire and then have serious health issues. It always seems so unfair, plus it makes me scared to retire (I’m not there yet anyway)! It’s great to hear it works out for some (and probably most, we just always hear the bad stories, it seems sometimes).
