Silly Sunday

silly-sunday-badge-250-transparent-150x150Silly Sunday is the place to come for weekly laughs. The rules are simple, just have fun.

This is a great opportunity to get to know other bloggers and have a laugh or two in the process. Here is how it works: Laugh and Link Up!

My Parents Taught Me:

Most of our generation were HOME SCHOOLED in many ways.

My mother taught me TO APPRECIATE A JOB WELL DONE.

“If you’re going to kill each other, do it outside. I just finished cleaning.”

My mother taught me RELIGION.

“You better pray that will come out of the carpet.”

My father taught me about TIME TRAVEL.

“If you don’t straighten up, I’m going to knock you into the middle of next week!”

My father taught me LOGIC.

“Because I said so, that’s why.”

My mother taught me MORE LOGIC .

“If you fall out of that swing and break your neck, you’re not going to the store with me.”

My mother taught me FORESIGHT.

“Make sure you wear clean underwear, in case you’re in an accident.”

My father taught me IRONY.

“Keep crying, and I’ll give you something to cry about.”

My mother taught me about the science of OSMOSIS.

“Shut your mouth and eat your supper.”

My mother taught me about CONTORTIONISM.

“Just you look at that dirt on the back of your neck!”

My mother taught me about STAMINA.

“You’ll sit there until all that spinach is gone.”

My mother taught me about WEATHER.

“This room of yours looks as if a tornado went through it.”

My mother taught me about HYPOCRISY.

“If I told you once, I’ve told you a million times, don’t exaggerate!”

Hi Sandee, some great lessons there and a fair few I was taught myself. I sat many a time staring defiantly at my dinner, and it never won, not once. Not even when I was given it again for breakfast the next morning. I wish I had that sort of stamina when faced with a slice of chocolate cake.

    xx

lol I was taught these lessons too. Not sure when my generation decided it would be ideal to stop teaching these things… but you can sure feel the reprecussions in the schools (where I am at every single day). Of course there are exceptions, but disrespect seems to be a norm now. I don't remember it being that way in my school days.

one of my Mums favourites was "if "Jane" told you to stick your had in the oven would you?"

Im pretty sure I will end up saying the same things to my one 🙂

as they say its the circle of parenthood 🙂

Laughing…this is to funny and I hate to admit it, but these phrases are all too familiar. Especially this one: "Make sure you wear clean underwear, in case you're in an accident." Great post, Sandee, great post!

    "Big hugs"

    Have a wonderful Sunday.
