Sunday is the place to come for weekly laughs. The rules are simple, just have fun.
This is a great opportunity to get to know other bloggers and have a laugh or two in the process. Here is how it works: Laugh and Link Up!
The Curate:
A young curate, in his 1st charge was under the supervision of a vicar with a good sense of humour.
The Vicar was worried that the young curate seemed to have no sense of humour so one day to test him out he told the story. “You know young man, the best years of my life were spent in the arms of another man’s wife.”
At this news the curate was shocked.
Then the vicar said with a laugh, “Yes, the arms of my mother.”
This at last raised a smile on the young curate’s face.
He was to speak that afternoon to the parish Mothers union, so he thought he might begin by retelling the story as an opener.
So he began, “Ladies, you know the best years of my life were spent in the arms of another man’s wife.” Then he paused, and finally said, “And for the moment I cannot remember who she was!”

Have a memorytastic day Sandee :-h
Yep, you just shouldn't be late. 🙂
Oh my, what an awkward moment!
Not really for politicians. 🙂
why is it that the memory leaves you at the most inopportune time? 🙂
I don't know, but this one is a doozie. 🙂
I guess that one did not go over well. 😉
Not one bit Rose. 🙂
Clearly no sense of humor, but that's what makes it so funny.
It does indeed Rhonda. 🙂
Sounds like something that would happen to me if I tried to tell a joke while speaking in front of a group!
Yep, if you can't tell jokes then you shouldn't ever try. 🙂
:Poor guy. He tried. Sandee, hope the cruise is going really well. You and Zane and Little Bit have a great week end.
The cruise was awesome Marg. We're back in our slip and resting. 🙂
Some people can tell a joke, and some people can't. This is too funny.
He's one that can't Jean. 🙂
His problem was that there were so many women he couldn't remember. Have a wonderful Va – Va – Voom Sunday Sandee. See ya.
Cruisin Paul
Bless his heart. 🙂
Ha! Or event this: Then he paused, and finally said, "Yes, the arms of the vicar's mother."
That would have bombed even worse. 🙂
I love jokes, but remembering the punch line can be important.
It's vital Joe, vital. 🙂
It serves the joke thief right.
Yep, he really messed this up. 🙂
I also thought he was going to say the Vicar's Mother. c-)
Well, I'm sure glad he didn't. 🙂
Yep. Happens to me quite often. I'll hear a joke and want to repeat it to someone – get right to the punch line … and poof. I can't remember it. 🙂 So glad you shared this, Sandee. Makes me feel better – and I might even be able to remember this one. 🙂 Hope you have a great day!
I've done this a time or two myself. 🙂
Dont' you wish you had a rewind button at times like these.
Yes, a rewind button would be great. 🙂
Poor thang. That probably happens to a lot of guys. Hahaha
Big hugs, honey…
Probably. 🙂
whoops- some folks can tell jokes and others should not even try! Have a lovely day today with Zane and LB!
You're spot on about this. 🙂
LOL! Talk about an awkward moment. Love it, Sandee. 🙂
Very awkward. 🙂
Heeheehee! Hope he learned to write down punch lines after that!
Do you think that would help. 🙂
Truly laughing…Poor kid, that's too funny. Thanks for the Sunday Laugh Sandee, you are the best!
I hope you're having a fabulous week-end. :))))
"Big hugs" to you and yours,
We've had a fabulous weekend. Big hugs back. 🙂
Yup, that's me telling a joke. I suck at it too!
Some people are just naturals at joke telling. I'm not one of them either. 🙂
Poor kid..but I do understand, my husband does that too..he begins to tell a joke and then ask me afterwards what happen next. 😀
I'm not good at joke telling either. I often forget the punchline. 🙂
