Today finds us on the road heading toward our destination of Portland Oregon for the Rose Festival. Our first stop is Seven Feathers Casino Resort. This is a regular stop each year when heading for Portland. It is our first time. We aren’t gamblers, but a fine meal and a nice bottle of wine works for us.
Anyone that has traveled up or down Interstate 5 can attest to how long and lonely much of that trip can be. We’ll have each other for company so that will help some. We’ll also stop somewhere for a quick lunch and then get back on the road.
The bittersweet part of this is we wouldn’t be going at all if our Little Bit was still with us. We never boarded her and if we had to go somewhere we had someone house sit so she would be at home. We know she stayed with us as long as she could, but that doesn’t mean we won’t be thinking of her often while we’re gone.
We’re planning on a fun trip with like-minded boating folks. All the folks that we’ll be dealing with in IOBG are past commodores of various clubs around the world. Each bringing their part of the world to the table, and that’s the very best part.

Look at it this way: once you get back home, contact me via FB and Seymour will be on his way for Visit#2.
I'll do that Mike. 🙂
Aw. Your Little Bit will always be a part of you.
A fine meal and a nice bottle of wine works for me too.
Yes, Little Bit will always live in our hearts. 🙂
Sounds fun trip!
We're hoping it is a fun trip. 🙂
Bon Voyage!
See you next week. 🙂
That sounds like a fun trip. Can't wait to hear more about it. We do miss our animals that have left us. I still miss our Ande. I just plain miss having a dog. Sandee, you and Zane have a wonderful trip.
I'll see you next week Marg. Got to hit the shower and head out. 🙂
Safe Travels!!
Thanks Michelle. 🙂
Have an enjoyable dinner Sandee & Zane and don't drink to much. Wine gives a loving feeling. That's what my friends tell me. Ha,ha,ha. Keep safe my friends. See ya.
Cruisin Paul
Don't worry, we won't overdo on anything. 🙂
Oh my- I miss all my fur babies- always will remember them. I bet you miss Little Bit- Lucy has folks stay with her when we are gone also. See you soon- we will have fun!
See you next Sunday Kathe. Scritches to Miss Lucy. 🙂
I have driven past that casino a number of times.
Next week I shall do so again.
It's our first time there. I don't remember ever seeing it before, but it's been a long time since I've been in Oregon. 🙂
Enjoy, and put a chip on #7.
Roulette? I'm guessing so. 🙂
Okay, you better post after you make it off of Interstate 5. Sounds like a creep crime show road! – I hope you'll post pics of your travels, it sounds like a great trip. I'm sorry about your "Little Bit." We almost lost our Luci and I can't even imagine. 🙁 – Hugs from Idaho and BE SAFE!!
It's just a long, lonely road much of the way, but it's a good interstate to travel. 🙂
Sounds like your going to enjoy yourselves, nice post Sandee
Have a great time cheer
So far so good Steve. 🙂
I am expecting to see some photos of roses! Have a safe trip. We'll see you on the flip side.
We'll do our best to get some rose photos. 🙂
You go into a casino and don't gamble? You have better character and are more disciplined than I am. Have a fun trip even if part of it is on I-5.
It's morning here and no we didn't gamble. Not one cent. 🙂
I've never been out west so I wouldn't know I-5 from Adam, but I will ask you to put five bucks on black for me. Just kidding. I've never been in a casino either, but I do watch too much TV.
Anyway, enjoy your trip. Have an adventure.
It's just boring for the most part. Long and nothing for miles and miles. Then you hit the mountains and it's beautiful. 🙂
Mountains are beautiful to look at. I don't like being atop them. I still have nightmares about Mount Washington in New Hampshire. Hope you have a great book for the boring parts 😉
I do have a great book. I don't mind the mountains, it's those long stretches of nothing that get to me. 🙂
We know about the dog. We did that trip with the dogs and they were wonderful. We haven't done one with the "wylde chylde" Kali yet.
We took Little Bit with us almost everywhere. We enjoyed being with her almost as much as she enjoyed being with us. 🙂
We took the really slow way through Oregon, the coast from Portland to San Francisco. It was so lovely. Have a great time.
Traveling down the coast is a great way to see some beauty. 🙂
Safe travels! We're looking forward to seeing you tomorrow! Angel says she'll try to be brave! I know exactly how you feel about Little Bit because I still feel that way about Sadie. You'll see her smiling face is still around for us to see here.
We'll see you around one this afternoon. I'm looking forward to seeing you and the girls. 🙂
I hope you have an enjoyable and safe trip, Sandee.
So far so good. 🙂
I hope the two of you have a fabulous trip and I believe "Little Bit" is riding along with you. I really do. It's sounds like you will have a grand time.
Be safe. Miss you.
"Big Hugs"
I think she is riding with us too. 🙂
Oh, and try to behave… 🙂
Now you're taking the fun out of this trip. 🙂
Have a great time.
Thanks Ann, we'll give it our best. 🙂
Those firsts after someone we care for passes is tough. I hope you have a great time though and I bet it will smell amazing!
Be safe and have fun 🙂
Yep, it's tough and will be for a very long time. 🙂
I am sorry Little Bit is no longer with you.
I'm sorry too. 🙂
It sounds as if it will be interesting to meet those other boaters from around the world. Though it is sad about Little Bit.
It's very sad about Little Bit. 🙂
C'mon you have to play the Slots! I love Slots!! Sending many hugs and much love about Little Bit….she is smiling down on you, she is happy that you can go (((hugs)))) DakotasDen
We didn't gamble. Just don't care about gambling. 🙂
Hope you have a great time Sandee. When I read the title Seven Feathers Casino I thought it was going to be a joke about those glamorous dancers that have the feather costumes.
No, I was telling you the truth. 🙂
Hi Sandee, it's always sad when we lose a pet. Remember her fondly and raise a glass of good wine in her memory…. I have no doubt that you did!
xx
We have done that more than once. We sure miss that girl. 🙂
