Hat tip: Pop Culture
For the popular tv shows, I only know 5 out of the 10. And in the tops hits, I remember Tennessee Ernie's 16 tons. My parents had it on a record and I used to play it all the time. The yellow rose of Texas is one my dad used to sing a lot.
Yep, I was born in 1951 so I remember most of this from my parents and then later it was just part of growing up. 🙂
Well, Dam, I remember them all. Those were the days. Those songs bring back so many memories. Sandee, you and Zane have a terrific Tuesday. 😮
Some of those songs were great and some not so much. I remember the beautiful women and all the shows. 🙂
All a bit before my time, yet i've heard all the songs and seen all those stars and at least clips from all the shows. It was great entertainment, much better than what's around now.
I agree that the entertainment was far better then than now. 🙂
The "hotties" of today look pretty weak in comparison to those ladies, don't they? I wish we could just swap them out and get rid of any mention to a Kardashian!
I'd love to not hear about the Kardashian anymore. 🙂
Ha,ha,ha. I was only six years old at that time. I just wanted to play outside at that time and of course eat.
Have a funny Tuesday Sandee & Zane. See ya.
Cruisin Paul
I was pretty young too Paul. I was four. 🙂
Befitting golden memories!
Happy Memorial Day!
They are indeed. 🙂
I was only eight in 1955 but I know my mother watched virtually all of those tv shows. Since most of the stars were still around by 1960, I can honestly say that I thought Sophia Loren was the most beautiful woman in the world. I have always loved music so all of these songs are familiar to me, even the birth of Rock 'n Roll with Bill Haley and the Comets. Who didn't love that voice of Tennessee Ernie Ford? Have a blessed day blogging friend of mine.
Sophia Loren was indeed one of the most beautiful women in the world. She held that title for a very long time too. 🙂
I do not remember Dorothy Dandridge, the December Bride, Let me go lover and Hearts of Stone. All the rest I do- wow what a trip down memory lane! See you soon- big hugs to you and Zane!
Yep, I had fun doing this for sure Kathe. I'll see you soon indeed. I got Miss Lucy lots of fun stuff. 🙂
Now I have a whole lot of songs stuck in my head from bygone days.
Yep, I do too Jan. 🙂
I was 9 but I remember most of these. Good memories.
Big hugs, honey..
Very good memories. A slower time back then. 🙂
This was 15 years before I was born, but I have always loved Lucy.
Oops- 14 years, not 15. I guess my Math skills are going.
You're just a baby then. 🙂
Okay at 14 years you're still a baby. 🙂
I don't remember Dorothy Dandrich thought the name sounds familiar, I never watched December Brides but I remember the title…everything else yes.
Loved Doris Day, and no one was hotter than Kim!
Kim was indeed a beauty. They all were. 🙂
I remember Norma Jean Baker.
Of course you do Kismet. 🙂
Love it! My birth year!!! Hope you have a fabulous day! xoxoxo catchatwithcarenandcody
I'm having a great day Caren. I hope you are too. 🙂
Thanks for the trip done Memory Lane.
It's a long time ago, but well worth the trip. 🙂
I remember some from each category and we used to get a few of those TV shows here, an old satellite channel still shows the old Ed Sullivan Shows I love em (h)
Have a nostalgictastic day Sandee =p~
I loved the Ed Sullivan show. There were lots of great entertainment back then. 🙂
That's before my time but I knew Disneyland opened in 1955 since I celebrated the 60th anniversary there last year!
You're very young compared to hubby and I. You'll see next week. 🙂
I still watch I Love Lucy 🙂
I love that show. I've watched it off and on for years. 🙂
I like the Jack Benny radio show. I've never seen the TV show.
It was a different time. I must slower time. 🙂
