Who are the Music Moves Me bloggers? They are bloggers who blog about music each Monday and if you have music to share, you are most welcome to join! (Music Posts Only-meaning at least one music video, please!)   First, there is Marie from XmasDolly.  Her co-hosts are: Stacy from Stacy Uncorked, Cathy from Curious as a Cathy, and Alana from Ramblin’ with AM.

We’d love more music lovers to join us.  It’s easy! All you have to do is add your link with a music post that contains at least one music video (there must be a music video).  And that’s it!

Each month, except December, we have a guest conductor. Today’s honorary co-hostess is Robin of Songbirds Crazy World and the theme this week is Love songs. Perfect for the month of love.

“How Deep Is Your Love” is a pop ballad written and recorded by the Bee Gees in 1977 and released as a single in September of that year. It was ultimately used as part of the soundtrack to the film Saturday Night Fever. It was a number-three hit in the United Kingdom and Australia. In the United States, it topped the Billboard Hot 100 on 25 December 1977 (becoming the first of six consecutive US number-one hits), ended the 10-week reign of Debby Boone‘s “You Light Up My Life” and stayed in the Top 10 for 17 weeks, being the first song to spend 17+ weeks in the top ten since Chubby Checker‘s The Twist. It was also the longest song to be in the top ten in one run. It would hold the record until “End of the Road” by Boyz II Men. The single spent 19 weeks in the top ten after the introduction of Nielsen Soundscan in 1991 allowed singles to achieve longer runs on the charts. It spent six weeks atop the US adult contemporary chart. It is listed at No. 22 on Billboard‘s All Time Top 100.[1] Alongside “Stayin’ Alive” and “Night Fever“, it is one of the group’s three tracks on the list. The song was covered by Take That for their 1996 Greatest Hits album, reaching No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart for three weeks.

“How Deep Is Your Love” ranked number 375 on Rolling Stone‘s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. In a British TV special shown in December 2011, it was voted The Nation’s Favourite Bee Gees Song by ITV viewers. During the Bee Gees’ 2001 Billboard magazine interview, Barry reportedly said that this was his favourite Bee Gees song. Source: Wikipedia

    Bee Gees! I think most people like listening to them. I had no idea this one spent 19 weeks in the top ten. That’s very impressive.

    I love this Bee Gee song! It topped the chart the year DH was in college. During that time, we only got a chance to see each other on the weekends. He’d always stop by my house on Friday afternoons on his way home staying with me as late as possible. Saturdays, he didn’t visit. We both usually had homework to do but spent all day Sunday together until he had to leave to make the 2-hour commute back to his college apartment which he shared with two other fellas. I remember hating when he had to go. Now, we don’t have to be apart. 🙂 Thanks for sharing and bringing back a long ago memory. Have a boogietastic week, my dear!

    This song … The Bee Gees dominated the radio when I was in high school, and this was one of my favorites. I listen to this song and see the scenes from Saturday Night Fever.

    The Bee Gees were the face of disco in their day but the recorded a number of great songs that fell into truly love song catagory and How Deep is Your Love fits that description. Well done my friend.
