Little Bit

Today marks one year since our precious Little Bit went to the bridge. I wish I could say it was easier now, but it’s not. The tears are still there and the pain remains.

Stephanie Faris left this poem in my comments on the passing of Little Bit last year. Today I want to share that poem. Thank you Stephanie.

A Pet’s Peace

by Tracy M. Johnson

I have left you now, but please don’t be sad,
you gave me all the love you had.
You did so much for me in my time here
and I’ll always hold those precious times near.
I know someday you’ll find love again
and into your life will come a new friend.
Your heart will heal, though you’ll never forget
memories like the first time we met.
Memories are wonderful, so keep them close
and remember all the good times the most.
Up in the Heaven for animals is where I’ll be
and someday in the future, each other we’ll see.
I am at PEACE now, so please don’t be sad
You gave me all the love you had.

What a sweet poem and the portrait is wonderful. I know exactly how you feel because it's the same way with Duke. Even though we have Gibbs now, there is still a big hole that no other dog will ever be able to fill. Remember her with fond memories

What a great tribute to Little Bit. And the portrait is fantastic. It is always good to remember all the wonderful memories. It never gets any easier. Big hugs to you Sandee and Zane too.

What a beautiful painting of Little Bit. The poem is a beautiful tribute to a family member that is no longer there with you.
Have a wonderful Saturday Sandee & Zane. See ya my friends.

Aww…(((Hugs))). I lost my first dog more than ten years ago and I still think about him. They leave a little paw print on your heart. I feel that same love for the dog I have now…it's interesting. It doesn't replace the love I had for my previous dog–it's just an additional paw print!

Beautiful portrait of Little Bit, and a loving tribute to her and her legacy. I know you both still miss her. I still feel the same way about our sweet Parker, and he crossed over 4 years ago. The hurt does get a tad easier, but the heart still gets a ache, and the eyes get a little leaky.

    Big hugs times two, honey…

What a lovely tribute to a loving friend and companion. I got my first dog when I was three and she died when I was fifteen. Since then I have always had a dog or I have been waiting for one to find me.

I have always loved that poem and Little Bit was a gorgeous dog. I wish I could do something to ease your pain. It's so hard I know, I've been there…and I still visit my son's Golden Retriever, "Wendy's" grave. We named her Wendy after Wendy in Peter Pan. "The mother for lost boys." God bless the both of you and know you are in my prayers.

    Love ya, Sandee. xoxoxox

Such a lovely poem and a beautiful portrait of Little Bit. The wonderful memories will always be there. My hubby also said no more dog and we have not taken in any dog. Peace be with you and your hubby.
