Today marks one year since our precious Little Bit went to the bridge. I wish I could say it was easier now, but it’s not. The tears are still there and the pain remains.
Stephanie Faris left this poem in my comments on the passing of Little Bit last year. Today I want to share that poem. Thank you Stephanie.
A Pet’s Peace
by Tracy M. Johnson
I have left you now, but please don’t be sad,
you gave me all the love you had.
You did so much for me in my time here
and I’ll always hold those precious times near.
I know someday you’ll find love again
and into your life will come a new friend.
Your heart will heal, though you’ll never forget
memories like the first time we met.
Memories are wonderful, so keep them close
and remember all the good times the most.
Up in the Heaven for animals is where I’ll be
and someday in the future, each other we’ll see.
I am at PEACE now, so please don’t be sad
You gave me all the love you had.
We so miss you baby girl.

Portrait of Little Bit: Nancy Link
What a sweet poem and the portrait is wonderful. I know exactly how you feel because it's the same way with Duke. Even though we have Gibbs now, there is still a big hole that no other dog will ever be able to fill. Remember her with fond memories
I know you know exactly how I feel Ann. Thank you my friend. 🙂
Condolences. Like losing a close family member.
We did lose a close family member. 🙂
What a great tribute to Little Bit. And the portrait is fantastic. It is always good to remember all the wonderful memories. It never gets any easier. Big hugs to you Sandee and Zane too.
There are a ton of wonderful memories Marg. She was the best dog ever. 🙂
Hugs to you and your husband. It's never easy to lose a precious pet.
Thank you my friend. 🙂
That's a lovely poem and ode to Little Bit. Keeping you in my thoughts.
It sure is. It fit last year and still does this year. 🙂
You have such good friends. That is a beautiful poem.
I sure do Christine. You're one of those friends. 🙂
Pets are more than pets – they are family – and it hurts as much when they are gone. That was wonderful of Stephanie to leave that poem for you.
Little Bit was our family. We thought of her welfare before our own. 🙂
What a wonderful tribute. I'm sorry you have to have this anniverary .:(
I'm sorry I have to have this anniversary too Rosey. 🙂
What a beautiful painting of Little Bit. The poem is a beautiful tribute to a family member that is no longer there with you.
Have a wonderful Saturday Sandee & Zane. See ya my friends.

Nancy Link did an outstanding job capturing Little Bit. 🙂
The pain dulls but never completely goes away.
I'm waiting for it to dull. I still cry way too often. 🙂
Aww…(((Hugs))). I lost my first dog more than ten years ago and I still think about him. They leave a little paw print on your heart. I feel that same love for the dog I have now…it's interesting. It doesn't replace the love I had for my previous dog–it's just an additional paw print!
Little Bit sure left a paw print on our hearts. Thanks again for this perfect poem. 🙂
Beautiful portrait of Little Bit, and a loving tribute to her and her legacy. I know you both still miss her. I still feel the same way about our sweet Parker, and he crossed over 4 years ago. The hurt does get a tad easier, but the heart still gets a ache, and the eyes get a little leaky.
Big hugs times two, honey…
I'm waiting for the tad easier. It's still so very painful. 🙂
What a lovely tribute to a loving friend and companion. I got my first dog when I was three and she died when I was fifteen. Since then I have always had a dog or I have been waiting for one to find me.
Hubby says no more dogs, so there won't be anymore dogs. I've taken this very hard, but hubby has taken this much harder. 🙂
I love you my Darlin'
I love you my Dogger. You're the only dog who is a dog. All the rest are just pretend.
She certainly the only dog who is a dog. I love you too my darling. 🙂
This is lovely. We are just a few months out from the loss of our sweet Zoe and so I understand this all too well.
I know you do. It's awful. 🙂
Dogs only have one flaw, they don't live long enough.
That is indeed a huge flaw. 🙂
I was moved by the poem. The nobility of Little Bit is amply brought out in the verses.
Great job.
Have a great day!
Thank you and I agree. 🙂
I have always loved that poem and Little Bit was a gorgeous dog. I wish I could do something to ease your pain. It's so hard I know, I've been there…and I still visit my son's Golden Retriever, "Wendy's" grave. We named her Wendy after Wendy in Peter Pan. "The mother for lost boys." God bless the both of you and know you are in my prayers.
Love ya, Sandee. xoxoxox
Time I hope will help. I'm hoping it does in any event. Love you back. 🙂
So sorry for your pain…
Hugs,
Bee
Thank you honey. 🙂
Great poem!!! Have a nice weekend!
xxBasia
You have a nice weekend too. 🙂
That is a very fitting poem. I'm sorry for your loss, but I know you two gave Little Bit the best life she could have had.
We sure did that Binky. We always cared for her first and us last. 🙂
A little teary-eyed here, Sandee. I love the poem and the poem, and the portrait is so beautiful. Sending you hugs and love.
Thank you Linda. I'll take the hugs and love. 🙂
I am sorry about Little Bit, she was beautiful. This is a lovely poem to remember her. XO
Thank you Ellen. It's been a very hard year. I hope this next year is better. 🙂
just know that Little Bit will be waiting for you at the bridge and you will cross over tinto heave together.Hugs :-h
We know she is waiting for us too. It will be good to see her again someday. 🙂
Such a lovely poem and a beautiful portrait of Little Bit. The wonderful memories will always be there. My hubby also said no more dog and we have not taken in any dog. Peace be with you and your hubby.
Thank you Nancy. It's so hard and we have them for so little time. 🙂
Oh Sandee my heart is just breaking…((((hugs))) and love. It is so hard. I am so sorry….I can't believe it has been a year. That painting is so beautiful, what a sweet baby girl……..I know you miss her so ((((hugs))) and love again. xoxo
We miss her so much Caren. She is so deeply embedded in our hearts. 🙂
brings tears to my eyes. All our fur babies are precious.
Little Bit was the very best family member. We are still so very heart broken. 🙂
