Interesting facts that I do not know about. I wonder how many lives in the coldest place.
Oymyakon, located on the northeastern part of Siberia, is known as the coldest place in the world. Situated 750 meters above sea level, Oymyakon has a population of 500 people. The average temperature in the winter falls to approximately -58 degrees Celsius. I had to look. 🙂
Iteresting facts. I now know that I could never live in Oymyakon, Russia. I don’t think I would like Hong Kong either. I would be one of the ones who lived on the 15th floor or higher.
I don’t want to live in either place as well. I don’t care for high rises and both of us hate the cold. 🙂
The whole of Disneyland could fit inside the Boeing building? Wow..!!!

This is really interesting. I don’t think I’ll go to Oymyakon, Russia any time soon. I’m not too fond of cold.
I’m not going to visit there either. I wonder what the temperatures are in the summer.
I googled summer temps and this is what I found:
Although winters in Oymyakon are long and excessively cold, summers are mild to warm, sometimes hot. The warmest month on record is July 2010 with an average temperature of +14.7 °C (58.5 °F). In June, July and August temperatures over 30 °C (86 °F) are not rare during the day. 🙂
How weird that so many people live way up high in the buildings. We would not like that at all. We know a lot about cold as some days cars won’t start here from the cold and faces freeze in 5 – 10 minutes, BUT, that is only now and then.
Over populations and the big city where every square inch needs to be utilized. I don’t want to be anywhere my car might not start due to the cold. 🙂
My guess is that Antarctica doesn’t count as “inhabited” since it’s only a science station or two down there. And yes, it’s winter up here when earth is closest to the Sun, but summer Down Under, and they’ve had the heat wave this year to prove it.

Yikes on the cold factor in Oymyakon, Russia. I would mind if my glasses didn’t slip and slide on my nose but I don’t want them permanently frozen there.

I watched a documentary about homes and living in Hong Kong last week, and it was fascinating how people live. And also, I will never live in that part of Russia!

Those are very interesting factoids! Can you imagine how much gas those cars in Russia use if they can never be shut off? Not to mention all the exhaust fumes all. the. time?! Made they are electric?
I have no idea how they keep them from freezing up. Too cold for me. 🙂
My car can attest to what happens when you turn it off without a good battery and it’s -48˚.
Glasses are crazy in cold weather of any kind but I believe it about freezing to skin. I am always afraid to lick my teeth.
Wow, that’s mighty cold. I could be just fine with the temperature never getting below 70. I’m a fair weather kind of gal. 🙂
