How about we do something fun for Tuesdays. Post a funny picture. Post a not so funny picture. Post whatever weirdness you want. That’s it.
Grab the Happy Tuesday linky code on my sidebar and make sure you leave a link to your post here and I’ll visit your Happy Tuesday post.
Getting Older
A recent study has found women who carry a little extra weight live longer than men who mention it.
Kids today don’t know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.
Senility has been a smooth transition for me.
Remember back when we were kids and every time it was below zero outside they closed school? Yeah, Me neither.
I may not be that funny or athletic or good looking or smart or talented. I forgot where I was going with this.

Good ones. I don’t remember getting nearly as many days off from school as the kids get now.
I so remember those days of having to get up to change the channel but we never had shag carpet.
I didn’t have shag carpet until I was grown. I hated shag carpet. 🙂
MOL…I think my bones…eh..posty fits well into the theme, Sandee…MOL 😀 Pawkisses for a Happy Tuesday 🐾😽💞
It sure does, Little Binky. Thanks for linking up. 🙂
I’m glad the peeps don’t have to get up to change channel on the TeeVees as this would disturb my napping on their lap!
Loves and licky kisses
Princess Leah xxx
PeeS My Mum was laffing and nodding through all of the above…she must be really old!
It sure would disturb your napping. It’s a good thing they have the remote control. 🙂
My Dad almost remembers…most days!
I hear you. We have the same issues here. 🙂
Thanks for the great giggle this morning Sandee. You sure make us all smile. Sandee, you and Zane have a fabulous day.
You’re most welcome, Marg. You have a fabulous day too. Scritches to all the kitties and lovies to Smoke and Joe. 🙂
These are fun. 🙂 I remember the shag carpeting. Thanks for hosting. I hope you have a great day!
It was horrible and almost everyone had it too. It was so popular. I just never figured out why. You have a great day too, Ellen. 🙂
As for snow days, I fell in a big snow drift when I was in elementary school while walking home. Thought I was going to be there till spring thaw! Yes, I obviously managed to finally climb/claw my way out. You’ve posted some good ones — even if they are factual! Bwahahaha! 😆
I think the factual stuff is the most funny. 🙂
When we were young, you also had to adjust the rabbit ears to a new position to get the new channel somewhat clear enough for viewing.
I did the same thing. I’m old. 🙂
Good and funny ones! Especially the first one! Have a sweet day with Zane! xoxo
You have a great day packing, Kathe. I’m so excited for you. 🙂
A recent study has found women who carry a little extra weight live longer than men who mention it. I bet you heard me LOL at this!!!!
Hugs cecilia
Yes, I did as a matter of fact. 🙂
Gawd, I’m betting that shag carpeting will come back in style, because we didn’t teach our children about it’s evils! LOL!
I hope it doesn’t come back in style. I think carpet is going out of style altogether. Wood floors are easy to care for. 🙂
Yeah that shag carpet was murder to navigate,
To navigate, to clean, to comb, to anything. 🙂
Oh, these are good! I’ll be giggling about these for awhile. Have a great Tuesday.
Giggling is a good thing to do. You have a great Tuesday too, Eugenia. 🙂
It used to take a blizzard to shut down school in our town, but then I think most of the teachers lived close…today not so much.
Now any old excuse will do. I went to school every single day. The only time we were sent home early was when JFK was assassinated. 🙂
Funny but true snippets about the past. Makes you wonder what kids will remember as nostalgia in the future assuming civilization does not move backwards. Perhaps leaving home to sit in a school classroom will be obsolete. It is going in that direction. Happy Tuesday! I got nothing today!
I’m pretty sure they will have their own irony to laugh at. Don’t we all. 🙂
It seems rough back in the old days.
Tyebe
Some things were tougher and some were much better. 🙂
Thank you for the laughs. Heh… Be well.
You’re most welcome, Darla. You be well too. 🙂
I remember my father making me slog through the linoleum floor to adjust the bunny ears. The shag carpet came later. Yes, I am that old 😒
Same here. I grew up with linoleum floors too and the shag came later. I’m that old too. 🙂
I am going to add Marv’s post all week – if that’s OK with you!
Please let me know
Barb
That’s just fine with me. Whatever Marv wants, Marv gets. 🙂
LOL. Thanks for the giggles! I suspect that’s true for women carrying a little extra weight
It’s very true. Men would do well not to mention the extra weight. 🙂
Bwahaha. I actually laughed out loud when I read that first one. Too funny!
Yes, and it’s ever so true. 🙂
Good ones! Thanks for the smiles.
Thanks, Jan. Have a great day. 🙂
Thanks for the laughs!
You’re most welcome, Chelsey. 🙂
Thanks for the LOL, Sandee!! ((Hugs))
You’re welcome, Michelle. Hugs back. 🙂
Thanks!!
Happy Tuesday! <3
I do remember shag carpets and no TV remotes. haha!
I sure do. I also remember turning on the TV five minutes before you were going to watch it so the tubes would warm up. I’m that old. 🙂
Fun post ~ laughter so good for the soul! Xox to you from Ms. Z and me ^_^
Happy Day to you,
A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A Creative Harbor)
Yes, laughter is very good for the soul. Happy day to you and Ms. Zoe. 🙂
Mom laughs when she reads that comment about school closings. She always walked to school no matter how cold it was, ice, snow, sleet – that’s just what one did. Here a lot of the schools closed today so unnecessarily. But we bet the kids had fun:)
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
We were a tougher lot back then. We don’t get snow here so school closures are rare. 🙂
Heeheehee! Back when i was a kid, they didn’t close the schools unless it was a hurricane, not just for an expected thunderstorm.
I hear you. Same here. I just don’t remember the schools ever being canceled. 🙂
My mother was so strict that even the nuns questioned her judgement when she sent me to school during snow storms.
My mother was wonderful, it was my father that was very strict. 🙂
You may have already heard this one…
When women reach a certain age, they begin collecting dogs (or cats)….this is called Manypaws!
I love this. I’ll try to remember. Made me smile. 🙂
Sorry I’m so late. Just wanted to stop by and say hi. I wasn’t around much today and that figures when I’m not yellin’ I’m HERE… NOBODY COMES…. ughhhhhhhh nobody loves me!!! Oh well, I’m off to bed cuz I have doctor’s in the morning. Lord, I wish I was a lot more healthy! Guess I’m not so good at this blogging thing… 🙁
I love you, Marie. You’ll get your mojo back. You were gone a long time. It’s what happens. Love you. 🙂
I agree with you on the number of school holidays the kids have today. I remember getting up to walk to the TV to switch channels or adjusting of volume. Its too hot for us to have carpet. Entertaining post! Great day!
Yes, us kids were in charge of the channel changing and everything else back in the day. You have a great day too, Nancy. 🙂
And shag carpet is coming back in… Plus super white tennis shoes. Fashion and in-cycles are really beyond me….
I can guarantee I won’t ever have shag carpet again. Never ever. 🙂
Hi Sandee, these did make me chortle. I remember as a child my friend having a television in her house with a remote. It was the hieght of luxury back then.
xx
It sure was. I was the remote for years. Also had to mess with the rabbit ears a lot. Times were much different then. 🙂
