Friendly Fill-ins

Each Thursday Annie of McGuffy’s Reader and Ellen of 15andmeowing, provide Friendly Fill-In statements. On Friday, we post our answers with a link-up for you to join us with your own responses. We hope you will copy and answer these on your blog, but please remember to link up @ McGuffy’s Reader. If you need help, please let either Annie or Ellen know.

Here are this weeks questions:
1. My favorite Dr. Seuss book is _________________.
2. The most interesting person I have ever met is ______________.
3. Besides books by Dr. Seuss, my favorite book as a child was ____________.
4. Lately, I have been working on ________________________.

Here are my answers:
1. My favorite Dr. Seuss book is, How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Christmas is not about gifts and money, it’s about family and love.
2. The most interesting person I have ever met is, some of my blogging buddies. We took a cruise to the Caribbean in 2011 and had a blast. There was Sarge Charlie, his wife Empress Bee, and their daughter, Daughter#1. Sandy B. and her husband Dick B., Barb A. and Linda O. We had a great time. Most interesting people ever.
3. Besides books by Dr. Seuss, my favorite book as a child was, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Like George Orwell and Philip Wylie, Ken Kesey is concerned with man’s battle to be himself in a world of increasing controls, the battle of joy and freedom against a society which fosters guilt and shame. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest tells the story of a struggle between a man and a woman for the spirits and hearts of a group of people who have been defeated by the world.
4. Lately, I have been working on my new WordPress blog. I’m so loving WordPress. Pretty soon it will be boating season again and I’m waiting for that too.

I wonder what has got that cat’s attention heheh!

It’s good to see your loving WordPress and getting into it it’s so flexible isn’t it

    Have a blogtastic FFS

    • Comedy Plus says:

It was a lot of fun, Ellen. I’m so glad we went. It was a trip of a lifetime. The cruise was nice, but meeting everyone was the best part. 🙂

    • Comedy Plus says:

WordPress was very difficult when I first started blogging, but now it was an easy transition. I just love it and won’t ever go back to blogger. 🙂

  2. messymimi's meanderings says:

    Very pretty cat.

Dr. Seuss was so good, it’s not easy to choose just one.

WordPress doesn’t want to let me do anything without asking me every 10 seconds if it can store stuff on my tablet, and my tablet is getting full, so i click on cancel, and it asks again and again and again. It’s to the point i can barely get anything done on WordPress. If you pay for it, i can see how it is a great platform. The free version, not so much. In fact, it took me almost five minutes to post this comment on your blog, i had to keep trying to get into WordPress, it wouldn’t let me get in and comment.

Hope you have a fabulous Friday!

    • Comedy Plus says:

Okay, I’ll go to your blogspot blog from now on and leave the WordPress one out of my loop. I would go crazy with that mess.

It was very difficult to just choose one. I had several in mind and had a tough time. 🙂

  3. 15andmeowing says:

That is a pretty cat. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I love The Grinch too, that is my second favorite right after The Cat in the Hat. That is wonderful that you got to spend time with interesting blogging friends. I am glad you are loving WordPress. Have a great weekend! XO

    • Comedy Plus says:

I’ve met a whole bunch of bloggers. I’ve lost count and they have been from all over the world too. Most fun. You have a great weekend too, Ellen. 🙂

  4. Linda Arthur Tejera says:

What a gorgeous feline! Happy Dr. Seuss Day! I never did read his books but the ones I’ve seen look great! I was a Nancy Drew aficionado! That cruise sounds like a lot of fun! Have a beautiful weekend! 😀

    • Comedy Plus says:

Oh, Nancy Drew is great too. I enjoyed her as well. The cruise was wonderful. You have a great weekend too, Linda. 🙂

  5. McGuffy's Reader says:

Oh, my! This beautiful cat could be Bee’s (& Clyde’s) brother/sister! It really has a resemblance to Bee! But, she is prettier…just sayin’…*wink* Have a great weekend! HUGS!

    • Comedy Plus says:

Cats can sleep so weirdly and be comfortable. I think I’d throw my back out in some of these positions. 🙂

    • Comedy Plus says:

It was wonderful to meet bloggers that you’ve been talking to for years. I still talk to many of them today. It was a most wonderful experience. 🙂

    • Comedy Plus says:

It sure is, Mike. I go for Awww or Awesome. Hope you and Celestine had a wonderful anniversary yesterday. 🙂

    • Comedy Plus says:

Remember special kitties is a wonderful thing. Bittersweet, but wonderful. I hope you’re feeling better. You have a great day too. 🙂

  6. Lisa says:

I love all things Dr. Seuss! The Grinch is a holiday favorite in both book and TV show (didn’t care for the movie with Jim Carey). Your black tabby is a very striking kitty. It’s so cool you met up with some bloggy buddies for a vacay! That sounds like a lot of fun. If I can ever get my life under control, perhaps I’ll play along. 🙂 Take care and have a lovely weekend. xo

    • Comedy Plus says:

I love all things Dr. Seuss too. I spend many hours reading these stores to my son and then my granddaughters when they were growing up. It’s a precious memory for me. If you ever get to play along for Feline Friday I would be thrilled. You have a lovely weekend too. 🙂

  7. Josie Two Shoes says:

What a beautiful kitty on the white rug! I love How the Grinch Stole Christmas too… the message comes through loud and clear, I wish more people understood it and we cut the commercialism.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest was a favorite book and movie that was intensely powerful and no one could have done it better than Jack Nicholson!

I definitely agree that my fellow bloggers are some of the most interesting people I have ever met! 🙂 I just moved to WordPress at the beginning of this year, and I am loving it as well, none of the issues that developed with Blogger in recent years and continue to be a problem with commenting, etc. Your blog looks really nice! 🙂

    • Comedy Plus says:

I agree with the commercialism. We only buy for our great granddaughter anymore and not that much. Hubby and I don’t do the holidays except for cards. What important is us, not things.

I think I’ll watch the movie again. I just love it too. Jack Nicholson was awesome in this movie. Okay, he was great in The Shining too.

WordPress rocks. It’s the best thing I’ve done. I’ve not had any issues at all. Thanks for the kudos, Josie. Have a great weekend. 🙂

  8. artmusedog says:

Oh what a beautiful kitty and she looks like a Queen on the white rug! Zoe thinks she pretty too! thanks for Zoe’s

  9. Suzanne Gunter McClendon says:

I’m glad that you’re enjoying WordPress. It seems to have far fewer quirks than Blogger, at least at the moment. 🙂

That sounds like a really fun cruise. We’ve met a few of our online buddies over the years, but we have never been on a cruise.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas was a great one, too.

    Have a blessed weekend.

    • Comedy Plus says:

I agree that WordPress has far less quirks than Blogger. I was having a heck of a time. Should have switched years ago.

The cruise was fun, but the meeting of my blogging buddies was the best part.

You have a blessed weekend too. 🙂

      • Suzanne Gunter McClendon says:

I’m beginning to think I should have switched years ago, too. Now, PS Annie! at Blogger is too big for me to export to WordPress. So, I just started another PS Annie! there and am cross posting from this point forward. I may start moving the other posts one at a time, but maybe not. That would be an awful lot of work that I don’t have the brain power for right now. 🙂

        Thanks!

        • Comedy Plus says:

To get my blog moved I had to get rid of a bunch of years, but I did it and didn’t look back. Nothing that important. It was indeed a lot of work. I’m ever so glad I did it though. 🙂

  10. Jeanna says:

I feel both ways about WP, I’ve used it a few times and even have something on there now but never found it as user friendly as Blogger. I suppose it’s what you know best.

    • Comedy Plus says:

I’ve another friend that has the free WordPress and she’s having all kinds of issues. Years ago I tried WordPress and it was way too complicated for me. The transition this time was simple. A bit of a learning curve with the plugins but that was it. Now it’s pretty simple. I suppose it is what you know best. 🙂

  11. Angie says:

I am so pleased to be joining Feline Friday for the first time – thanks for hosting! My favorite Dr. Seuss story is about the Sneetches; its message about valuing diversity is as pertinent today (perhaps even more so) as it was when the story was published.

    • Comedy Plus says:

I’m thrilled to have you join Feline Friday. We also do Awww Mondays. You do have some good looking kitties and they are always a hit on Mondays and Fridays. I don’t remember Sneetches. I’m going to have to read that one. 🙂

  12. evolvewithmary says:

Great FridayPicture 🙂 I also love how the Grinch Stole Christmas 🙂 It’s a classic. I’ve meet some cool bloggers along the way also. Great friendships that I will always cherish. I also enjoyed One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, it’s not my favorite but I did like it. George Orwell was such a great writer. So happy you like wordPress and I look forward to Boating Season.

    • Comedy Plus says:

Meeting bloggers has been fun. Boating season has really already started, but to go full swing when the weather is good is what I’m waiting for. We’ve had some storms the last couple of months that have made boating very difficult. 🙂

  13. Veronica Lee says:

I always enjoy reading your Friday Fill-ins. Time and time again, I tell myself I would switch to wordpress but never did. Blogger kinda grows on you.

Have a wonderful weekend! So glad I found your blog.

    • Comedy Plus says:

Blogger is okay and I used it for years, but WordPress is miles ahead of Blogger. If you’re happy with Blogger then all is good. I’m so glad we found each other too. 🙂

  14. angelswhisper2011 says:

Cute kitticat, I think she thinks the same as I do sometimes “oh, no, not that camera again.” We didn’t know dr. Seuss in the Netherlands, but I just saw that since a few years they translated a lot of books and that’s pawsome, because we like him a lot 🙂 Pawkisses for a Happy Seuss Day and Weekend 🙂 <3

    • Comedy Plus says:

Thanks, Darla. Yes I do know Ellen and Scott and have been visiting her blog for years. We boaters have to stick together. Have a great day. 🙂

  15. Jim says:

I like your cat. This one is pretty but thin. It reminds of one that hung around our hotel in Sicily. Thanks too for your interesting ‘Fill in.” It made me think of the saying, “You can’t tell a book by its cover.” A thiRd thanks for peeking in on me Thursday. We are out in the North Louisiana woods, links a cabin by a lake. So is put it on auto post for Thursday on purpos, but had met SIL and BIL and spouses here on Wednesday.
    ..

    • Comedy Plus says:

Glad you’re having a great time with family. It’s good to get away now and then and recharge the batteries. Have a great weekend. 🙂

  16. Mandy says:

Sounds like you had a wonderful time with your blogging friends in 2011. Are you ever going to travel with them again?

I’ve heard wonderful things about One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, but I have never made time to read it. One day…

    • Comedy Plus says:

We don’t have anything planned. I’ve met up with a couple of them elsewhere and had a great time, but no cruises or other trips planned. We’re pretty much at the end of our traveling. You get older and it’s really tough to travel.

You will live the movie too. It’s most entertaining. 🙂

  17. cube says:

That cat looks like a cat that belonged to my daughter years ago while she still lived at home. She was a feral kitten when we adopted her and never achieved the state of relaxation as your chillin’ cat.

Enjoyed your book choices, but I would nominate David Foster Wallace’s “Infinite Jest” as one of top favorites.

No cruises, with blogger friends or otherwise, in my future. Hubby and boats = nausea for him. We are looking forward to getting a new dog one of these days.

    • Comedy Plus says:

I’ll give that book a go. If you like it then I probably will too.

Some people can take boats and others can’t. It’s all good. Hubby and I love boating and love being on our boat. We’ve been in some pretty severe weather and managed to not get sick. We even went to Hawaii on a cruise ship and never got sick. We’re pretty happy about that. 🙂

  18. Michelle says:

I have some friends who have gone on several cruises, they always have a good time.
That’s something on my bucket list. Wonder if it will ever happen.

I know you guys are gearing up for and excited about boating season. Have a fun, safe season, my friend 🙂

    • Comedy Plus says:

We had a cruise last month and have one planned for next weekend. I’m looking forward to getting the boat out of the slip and docking it at a different marina for a couple of days. Have a nice dinner planned for Friday night with friends and that’s always fun. 🙂

  19. Marti says:

Sounds like you have a busy summer planned. I love meeting online friends in person. At first, Hubby freaked out about that, but he has come around and enjoys it now too.

    • Comedy Plus says:

I’ve met a couple of weird bloggers. You know like nudists and the like. Didn’t hang around them long. Kind of creepy for us, but mostly they have been wonderful folks. 🙂

  20. Marv says:

Here we are…finally getting out to comment! Loved your friday fillins. May favorite book growing up was The Stainless Steel Rat (actually anything by Harry Harrison). I was introduced to his work through Analog (a monthly Sci-Fi magazine where I read the Technicolour time machine). I have devoured and collected every one of his books!
    Have a marvelous weekend
    Barb

    • Comedy Plus says:

I’ll have to check out Harry Harrison. I’ve not read any of his work and I’m guessing I’m missing some great reads. You have a marvelous weekend too. 🙂

  21. Under the Oaks says:

Thank you so much for the visit today. As soon as things settle down I am going to try to do Feline Fridays. The cat today has a seriously beautiful fuzz face. I get befuddled easily and we have had lots going on so I may take a meme that isn’t on the same day as something else. I am so happy you are loving WordPress. Your blog is beautiful, easy to navigate… boat speak,Ha… and a cool theme! Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday! We used to boat on the Potomac from Quantico to Roswell, VA and also boated on the Lake of the Ozarks from when we both were little kids until we moved from our house on the Lake to a rural area south of Jefferson City, MO. Love reading about your floatin’ your boat adventures!

  22. Pamela says:

That is a really beautiful kittycat and the markings are amazing. I nearly chose the Grinch as my favourite but it got pipped by Green Eggs. I love the film with Jim Carrey, as I think he is perfect in the role.
That cruise sounds wonderful and was great that you got to enjoy it with blogging friends.
Thanks for sharing and have a fabulous day.

  23. McGuffy's Reader says:

What great, thoughtful answers. Sandee, you are really a special person. I read Cuckoo’s Nest in high school and it really struck a chord. Oh, WordPress is indeed wonderful! HUGS!
