Friendly Fill-ins

Each Thursday Ellen of 15andmeowing and Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs, provide Friendly Fill-in questions.

Ellen came up with the first two questions and Lorianne came up with the last two questions.

If you need help, please let either Ellen or Lorianne know.

Here are this weeks questions:
1. I am thankful for ______, ______ and ___________.
2. I look forward to eating _______ on Thanksgiving.
3. I didn’t realize _________ until _________.
4. There’s no shame in _________.

Here are my answers:
1. I’m thankful for my husband, my life, my family and my blogging buddies and all their wonderful fur/feathered family members.
2. I look forward to eating mashed potatoes on Thanksgiving. Rarely have mashed potatoes.
3. I didn’t realize how sweet retirement would be until I retired.
4. There’s no shame in having your own opinions. There are so many that mock you if you don’t agree with their opinions. Those folks are bullies.

For me it’s the stuffing. I think the last time I had stuffing was last Thanksgiving.
Can you imagine what a boring world it would be if everyone had the same opinion about everything. You are so right about the people who are mocking others for not having the same opinion.

  2. Memories of Eric and Flynn says:

Lovely close up of a sweet kitty. I love mashed potatoes too but Ivor doesn’t. Sometimes I give him boiled potatoes and save some back to mash for myself.

Great answers on the fill-inns, Sandee. Having opinions is so Ego..😸 Love the little pussycat. I bet he’s watching you making smashed patatoes…er…mashed patotoes😹Pawkisses for a wonderful weekend🐾😽💞

  4. Cleo says:

Excellent answers, all, and dad says three cheers to your #2 answer. He says mom makes the best red skin mashed potatoes in the world. He’s gotten used to eating them with just plain yogurt, salt and pepper, and he likes them the way she leaves the skins on and mashes them all nice and lumpy.

  5. Eugi says:

Enjoyed all of your answers, Sandee! I’m with you on #4! Seems the bullies have been flexing their muscles lately. Happy Friday and have a great weekend.

  6. Sandra Hangey says:

that photo in black and white is just beautiful.. your number 3 is a ditto for me. I am thankful for my last 15 years of retirment and for the skills the job I retired from that coninue to be used on tech stuff

  7. My GBGV Life says:

Great cat photo. Mom thinks retirement would be the absolute best because she has so many things she loves to do but work cuts into the time she has to do them. Have a fun weekend!

  8. yvonne473 says:

Love those kitty eyes! Great fill ins. I never realized how great retirement would be either. We did it two years ago and haven’t looked back. So agree with #4…there are way too many bullies out there these days. Have a great weekend!

  9. 15andmeowing says:

Such a cute kitty. Thanks for hosting Feline Friday and for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I love mashed potatoes too and I am too lazy to make them except at the holidays. 🙂 I agree we are all allowed to our opinions. Have a wonderful weekend. XO

    • Sandee says:

We don’t eat them because they are fattening. We don’t eat a lot of fattening food anymore. Yes we all need to have our own opinions. You have a wonderful weekend too, Ellen. 🙂

  10. Caren says:

my favorite part of Thanksgiving food is the stuffing. This year I am making a “healthy” stuffing with multiigrain cubes, mushrooms and onions and scallions. I just love stuffing! I also love that kitty you featured!

  11. UP says:

beautiful expression on that kitty’s face and…

    Here are this weeks questions:
    1. I am thankful for The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit.
    2. I look forward to eating turkey and mashed potatoes on Thanksgiving.
    3. I didn’t realize my ? until ?…
    4. There’s no shame in tears..

    • Sandee says:

Love #1. Me too. We’re having garlic chicken and mashed potatoes.

I have trouble with some of the fill-ins at times too.

I agree with #4. Happy day and weekend. 🙂

  12. mjgolch says:

Sandee, your first answer would be most of my answer,I look forward to the thanksgiving meal that get’s delivered for one of our local churches.
answer 4 is there is no shame in asking for help.

  13. Cathy Kennedy says:

    Sandee,

I’m with you on it’s okay to have an opinion. We don’t always have to be in agreement, just accept we’re all different and move forward. Respecting others is a way to respect oneself and bullies have no respect or self-esteem at all. Have a good weekend, dearie!

  14. Patricia says:

Like your thankful’s though mine are a bit different…I never had a husband, love potatoes of any kind and eat them often. I always knew I would love retirement because I never liked being told what to do, how to do it, and when to do it. So work was like school…had no choice but to go and do it. When I turned 50 I decided to listen politely to others opinions and then do my own thing and ignore bullies whenever I can.

  15. A ShutterBug Explores says:

That kitty portrait is awesome and wonderful fill ins ~ I look forward to the mash potatoes too ~ LOL ~

Lots hugs and love to you from me and Angel ~ Xo

  16. Xena and Lucy says:

Potatoes…I was raised in an Irish family. Potatoes…mmmmm. This week I used my biggest cast iron skillet to fry up sliced potatoes and onions with garlic. Oh,,, that’s why I was, well, making gas!

  17. Invisibly Me says:

What a gorgeous kittykat – such a sweet face and huge peepers. That’s a great photo, isn’t it? 🥰

I can’t get my head around how it’s already November, let alone how December is just a week or so away. Yikes! Those mashed potatoes will be nice to daydream about. Mmm yum, I love homemade mash.

Your number 4 is very poignant. There seems to be a lot of this opinion shaming and criticising lately. It’s a dangerous road for societies to go down.

Have a wonderful weekend guys! Xxxx

    • Sandee says:

I have a hard time with it being Thanksgiving in a few days. This year has sped by.

It’s awful that the cancel culture is so cruel. If you don’t have their opinions about things then they cancel you. They are bullies.

You have a wonderful weekend too, Caz. 🙂

  18. meowmeowmans says:

What a little sweetheart, peeking out like that! I love the things you’re thankful for, Sandee. And mash potatoes for me, too, please! 🙂

    Happy Weekend, my friend!
