Bought vs Homemade

Six year old Annie returns home from school and says that today she had her first family planning lesson at school.

Her mother, very interested, asks: “Oh. How did it go?”

“I nearly died of shame!” she answers. “Sam from down the street says the stork brings babies. Sally next door said you can buy babies at the orphanage. Pete in my class says you can buy babies at the hospital.”

Her mother answers laughingly, “But that’s no reason to be ashamed.”

“No, but I can’t tell them that we were so poor that you and daddy had to make me yourselves!

Nothing wrong with homemade 🙂 Touchy subject at our house. When our daughters got older and started dating they wanted more details about how I met their dad. They must've talked about it with with their friends and both came back to me and complained that our story had ruined dating for them because they'll never be able to top it. I told them that if we hadn't met, they wouldn't have been born and that if I were them, I'd count my blessings while I was ahead.

When they meet the right someone they can top most anything. The key is finding the right someone. I know and so do you. I do agree with your last sentence. It's spot on. 🙂

Heeheehee! Reminds me of the Calvin and Hobbes where his father told him most people bought the kit at Sears, but that he was a K-Mart blue light special!

Ha!!! Kids say the darndest things. I remember finding out about sex & how that made babies from another kid in grade 5 & I was shocked to think that my parents would do such a thing. TWICE!!!

Laughing! her mom is probably thanking her lucky stars that she was too embarassed to say her parents made her. I can just imagine the phone calls from the other parents.
