Barb – Story Game

StoryGameThis is the completed Story Game of “Barb” that you all did an outstanding job in authoring. Fall is here and everyone is enjoying the cooler weather. Well everyone except for Barb who is annoyed with just about everything.

First there was a letter she just received yesterday from her great aunt Paula, announcing she was coming for a visit. Barb hadn’t seen Great Aunt Paula in over 40 years because of that dreadful fiasco at the family reunion.

Paula made an absolute spectacle of herself that day when she accidentally pushed Uncle Jim into the pool and his pants fell off. Luckily he did retrieve his wallet, only to drop it and helplessly watch it sink to the bottom of the pool. Then he just stared blankly, wondering how he got himself into this mess.

Uncle Jim didn’t blame Barb, but Aunt Paula did, and made her use the pool tools to try to retrieve the wallet, which she did attempt, but those tools are so long handled she gave up trying and decided to drain the pool instead. But all that water ended up flooding the surrounding area taking Jim’s wallet with it the situation got too overwhelming for Aunt Paula and she passed out while the water and Uncle Jim’s wallet went down the street and into the storm drain. Alas, there was no way to remove the grate from the drain inlet and retrieve the wallet.

There were only two options left. Either call a city crew out to retrieve the wallet or attempt getting her slightly fluffy hips between the grate and the opening below the concrete curb. She could use a fishing pole to try and retrieve it, but that meant she had to go borrow one from her grumpy neighbor Ted who did not like her because Aunt Paula was a bit of nosy neighbor. So she was not well liked but Ted loaned her the fishing pole anyway.

So off to try to fish the wallet out but that was going to take forever so they decided to call out the City crew. The crew arrived pretty quickly and were able to get the wallet out with a long handled net. Unfortunately when they fished it out several things fell out of the wallet that Uncle Jim had been hiding.

One of the the things was a condom, which had been there since the 60’s. Aunt Paula suddenly screamed because she remembered giving Uncle Jim that condom. They were supposed to meet that night for their usual tryst, but after the pool thing it just never happened. That had ended their love/lust affair, all because she accidentally pushed him in the pool. Uncle Jim’s wife couldn’t understand why he would have a condom in his wallet, but that was Uncle Jim’s problem. How Uncle Jim’s wife never found out about their affair was a mystery. Or does she know? Does Barb know? Perhaps this is the reason that nobody seems to like Aunt Paula very much.

Such fun, Sandee!!! Thanks so much for showing us how it turned out! LOL!!! It kind of reminds me of a game I used to play when I was younger, and they sold a booklet for them. Mad Libs. They would create a story and leave blanks such as nouns, verbs and names that you had to fill in. The results always made me laugh! 🙂
