Fran & Marlo Cowan (married 62 years in 2008 when this was taken) playing impromptu recital together in the atrium of the Mayo Clinic. That piano captures just one part of what makes the Mayo Clinic so remarkable. It’s a place where people come not only to be healed and made whole physically, but spiritually as well. Around that piano we come together as an ad hoc family — a community of people on different, but similar journeys – to heal together and share what brings us hope and joy.

It’s all in your attitude!

Oh Sandee, that video made me smile some kind of big this morning. They were just terrific. There was a piano in the Cancer center where I went and every once in a while someone would play which was great. Thanks Sandee. Sandee, you and Zane, you have a most wonderful day.

I got the biggest kick out of this Marg. Married 62 years and they looked so happy. 🙂

I have seen this and adore it. I hope that is what my husband and I look like after 62 years married. Although neither of us play piano very well, but busting a move (much to our children's chagrin) is something we can do 🙂

Yes, but you'll be doing happy things like this couple. That's what counts. 🙂

    Everything begins with attitude.
    Hence my favorite quote:
"A positive attitude may not solve all of you problems, but it will irritate enough people to make it worthwhile."
    ~ Herm Albright

I love your quote and it's so very true. Live by that all the time. 🙂

Yes, so true. It's all in the attitude. This is awesome

It's not the events that are the issue, it's how we approach the issues. Attitude. 🙂

Great attitude. This fun and happy couple makes me laugh. So wonderful to see them enjoying themselves playing the piano. Wow! Married 62 years!

    • November 4, 2016 at 6:03 am

      Yes, that's a wonderful commitment isn't it. 🙂

  17. November 4, 2016 at 2:19 pm

That's nice that they have a piano there to help people take their mind off of their condition.

    • November 4, 2016 at 3:03 pm

Apparently it has been working for a very long time. 🙂

  18. November 5, 2016 at 4:37 am

What a great way to begin my day! I especially smiled at the love pats they gave each other. Hubby and I do the same. Sadly, neither of us can play the piano, but we can operate a radio quite well.

    Big hugs, honey…

    • November 5, 2016 at 6:23 am

Hubby and I do the same too. It's because we're happy with each other. 🙂

  19. November 6, 2016 at 2:26 pm

Thanks for this inspirational post. Great attitude crops up in all sorts of places and situations.

    • November 6, 2016 at 2:37 pm

They sure do. It's how we approach things that's key. These two know how to do it right. 🙂
