OH I love this white kitten. I have a neighbor up the road who has a beautiful white cat. When I drive by that cat will stop in their yard and just stare at me. I guess because I am staring at him too! Have a great day and thank you for hosting. Hugs

OK, Iill dig up my Genetics class: All kittens are born with blue eyes, as are most mammals. As the kitten grows, if melanin (a pigment produced in a specialized group of cells known as melanocytes) doesn't move in at all, the kitten will keep her blue eyes.

If the melanin pigment reaches only 1 eye, the result will be 1 blue eye and 1 yellow, green or brown eye. When the kitten reaches 7 to 12 weeks old, her eyes will become the color they will remain.

If the melanin pigment reaches both eyes, then you will have a cat with whatever eye color their DNA dictates.

This is just a quickie explanation, but I can make it way more technical if you want.

I absolutely love the face and the mismatched eyes! What beauty and character! Thanks so much for sharing, Sandee, and thanks as well for adding my blog link to your post today. I really appreciate your kindness. Hugs. πŸ™‚

I used to have a white cat just like this one and he, unfortunately, was one of those hematochromic cats who are deaf.

BTW my husband is white and heterochromic, thankfully, he's not feline, but is selectively hearing impaired when it suits him πŸ˜‰
