The Doorbell

A man is walking down the street one day when he notices a very small boy trying to press a doorbell on a house across the street. However, the boy is very small and the doorbell is too high for him to reach.

After watching the boy’s efforts for some time, the man moves closer to the boy’s position. He steps smartly across the street, walks up behind the little fellow and, placing his hand kindly on the child’s shoulder, leans over and gives the doorbell a solid ring.

Crouching down to the child’s level, the man smiles benevolently and asks, “And now what, my little man?”

The boy replies, “Now we run!”

I'd have a problem doing that. I think that the little boy would stand out on the sidewalk and laugh at me. That little whipper snapper.

Have a great Tuesday Sandee & Zane. See ya.

I'm betting the guy can't run very fast either. πŸ™‚

Yep, we forget those childhood games we used to play. πŸ™‚

Little boys just get taller and grow whiskers. They are still little boys on the inside. Bless their hearts.

Big hugs from one blessed wife to another, honey…

Sometimes we forget the games we played as kids. It just takes a kid to remind us of how easy it is to have a little mischievous fun. No harm, no foul. πŸ˜€

Except for the person having to answer the door. πŸ™‚

I'm guessing he's going to be all by himself when the door gets answered. πŸ™‚

The boy probably spends time on the phone calling random numbers. "Is your refrigerator running?"-"You better catch it".

    • March 1, 2016 at 4:27 pm

I remember that one too. We were so awful weren't we. πŸ™‚

I've a feeling the adult didn't, but the kid surely did. πŸ™‚

    Very funny!

We called it Ding Dong ditch'em. Very funny back in the day. Not so much today, from the other side of the door

    • March 1, 2016 at 4:30 pm

I don't think the kids in our neighborhood know about this game and we sure aren't going to tell them. πŸ™‚

    • March 1, 2016 at 4:31 pm

I do too, but I've a feeling the adult didn't get away. Perhaps no one is home. πŸ™‚

  15. March 1, 2016 at 3:23 pm

    LOL! That's a good one! πŸ˜€

    • March 1, 2016 at 4:31 pm

Kids find stuff to do to entertain themselves don't they. πŸ™‚

  16. March 1, 2016 at 6:29 pm

Heeheehee! When we were kids, if we couldn't reach the bell, we used a stick.

    • March 2, 2016 at 3:43 pm

I lived in the country so we tipped cows instead. πŸ™‚

  17. March 1, 2016 at 6:33 pm

Well that little boy is becoming a pain in the patooty very young!

Is it Friday yet? *sigh* Happy almost Wednesday Sandee!

    • March 2, 2016 at 3:44 pm

No it's not Friday yet, but you're getting closer to the end of tax season. I know you like that.

      Scritches to the babies. ☺

Ding dong ditch! One of my favorite childhood games!!!

    • March 2, 2016 at 3:44 pm

Yep, what fun some kids had with this one. πŸ™‚

  19. March 1, 2016 at 11:58 pm

It's better not to volunteer help with kids, you will be inviting trouble.

    • March 2, 2016 at 3:44 pm

I agree because you never quite know what they are doing. πŸ™‚

Another little child scams an adult. I know this is just a joke and not real, and years ago I would've helped, but nowadays I hesitate to help a child unless it's a dire situation in which case I would jump into the fray. Everything is upside down now; not anything like it was when I was kid.

    • March 2, 2016 at 3:45 pm

No this was real. Kids actually did this back in the day. Don't know if they still do. I do agree that everything is upside down. πŸ™‚

  21. March 2, 2016 at 3:21 pm

He must be glad he helped him.

    • March 2, 2016 at 3:45 pm

      I'm thinking not. πŸ™‚

  22. March 2, 2016 at 10:28 pm

LOL. My pet rock doesn't believe that I ever did this. He thinks all I ever do is incinerate kitchens.

    • March 3, 2016 at 2:31 pm

He's kind of single minded like that. He can sure get into lots of trouble though. πŸ™‚
