God, grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,

The good fortune to run into the ones that I do,

And the eyesight to tell the difference.

2012: I will get my weight down below 180 pounds.

2013: I will follow my new diet religiously until I get below 200 pounds.

2014: I will develop a realistic attitude about my weight.

2015: I will work out 3 days a week.

2016: I will try to drive past a gym at least once a week.

Dear Lord:

So far this year I’ve done well. I haven’t gossiped, I haven’t lost my temper, I haven’t been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish, or overindulgent. I’m very thankful for that. But in a few minutes, Lord, I’m going to get out of bed, and from then on I’m probably going to need a lot more help. Amen

    • January 2, 2016 at 10:17 am

I know it doesn't work, but what the heck, it sure is far easier. πŸ™‚

  13. January 2, 2016 at 8:44 am

I love the first one. Life is too short to have them in mine.

You must have hacked into my computer for the weight loss goals. lol

  17. January 2, 2016 at 10:48 am

I made a New Year's resolution once. For the life of me I can't remember what it was. c-)

    • January 2, 2016 at 11:23 am

I think it's the same one I can't remember. Happy New Year to you too Odie. πŸ™‚

  18. January 2, 2016 at 11:43 am

I resolved not to make a resolution I won't keep. My pet rock, Seymour, resolved to not visit a rock crusher. I think we're both on a positive path to keeping our resolutions…

    • January 2, 2016 at 12:01 pm

I think you'll both do just fine. Seymour is a smart one. Not that you're not, but he's a rock after all. πŸ™‚

  19. January 2, 2016 at 2:45 pm

Heeheehee! Well, i have the driving past the gym covered — i drive past a couple of them regularly! So i guess i'm good on that resolution.

    • January 2, 2016 at 3:53 pm

I've got it covered too. I'm so happy about that. The gym is a lot of work. πŸ™‚

  20. January 2, 2016 at 4:18 pm

Haha hilarious! My favourite is the second one.

    • January 2, 2016 at 4:36 pm

Yep, that one seems to work for me every year and things get worse and worse. Oh well. πŸ™‚

  21. January 2, 2016 at 5:00 pm

I think this post sums up the spirit of New Years resolutions perfectly!

    • January 2, 2016 at 5:09 pm

It's my way and it works for me. πŸ™‚

  22. January 2, 2016 at 5:07 pm

Too far in the year for me, I have already messed up, lolol

    • January 2, 2016 at 5:10 pm

That's why I never do resolutions. I'll mess them up the very first day. πŸ™‚

    January 2, 2016 at 5:10 pm

I like your resolutions, Sandee. The prayer is cut too. Neat post.
Well, I don't make resolutions cause I'm perfect in most every way. "I've done well. I haven't gossiped, I haven't lost my temper, I haven't been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish, or overindulgent." Some might differ.
    Happy New Year !!! :-h

    • January 3, 2016 at 7:59 am

You're perfect? I've never known a perfect person before. Happy New Year to you and Mrs. Jim. πŸ™‚

  24. January 2, 2016 at 5:15 pm

hahahaha. I would love to forget those I don't like, too. Cheers to our new adventure around the sun!

  25. January 2, 2016 at 9:51 pm

You crack me up! You find the best stuff to post on your page. Good to be back! I have missed you. Going to go have some fun and draw something for my Children's books right now. It's supposedly going to look like a duck … but it might end up looking like something else. Just sayin'.

Wendy! It's great to see you again. It's been a very long time. I've followed you on Facebook and I'm so proud of you. You've come a long way. Love you. β™₯β™₯β™₯

  26. January 2, 2016 at 10:56 pm

Hahahahaha! I'm going to try and drive past a gym at least once a week too! That's the best!

    • January 3, 2016 at 8:01 am

I keep doing it, but it's not working. Just so you know. πŸ™‚

  27. January 3, 2016 at 2:18 am

    LOL That's a really good one….and the reason why I just don't make New Year's Resolutions πŸ˜€

Sandee, thank you so much for your wonderful and open comment on my last kindness post! You can be so proud of the things you've accomplished, especially finding happiness within yourself. You are amazing! And I'm happy I got to know you here in the blogging world.

Have a wonderful and very happy Sunday.
    More hugs to you,

    • January 3, 2016 at 8:04 am

It wasn't easy Beate, but I could wallow in the misery or dig myself out. I decided to dig myself out. It's been a wonderful life so far. Have a happy Sunday too. πŸ™‚

  28. January 3, 2016 at 3:55 pm

So funny! Especially the rewrite of The Serenity Prayer.

Thank you. I needed the laugh today.

    • January 3, 2016 at 4:47 pm

You're most welcome. This is so me. πŸ™‚

  29. January 4, 2016 at 3:31 am

LOL – but driving to the gym won't do it – you should walk there. Happy New Year.

    • January 4, 2016 at 10:35 am

Walking there and back is the ticket indeed. πŸ™‚

  30. January 4, 2016 at 10:00 am

    LOL. I love it!
I too need a lot of help, starting from getting up on time.

    • January 4, 2016 at 10:35 am

Some people are just not morning people. I used to be, but since I retired not so much anymore. πŸ™‚

  31. January 4, 2016 at 12:30 pm

Just resolve to eat more. That usually works.

    • January 4, 2016 at 12:34 pm

I've been doing that just fine unfortunately. πŸ™‚

  32. January 5, 2016 at 12:10 am

No more diet new year resolution for me πŸ™‚ I fail every time. πŸ™‚

    • January 5, 2016 at 7:51 am

That's the worst resolution for almost everyone. Never seems to work. πŸ™‚

  33. January 5, 2016 at 10:00 am

I resolved to cut back on the little Post It notes I write to remind myself of something I want to revisit. So far, I'm using old envelopes instead πŸ˜‰

    • January 5, 2016 at 10:06 am

This is one I could probably pull off because I do it already. I like your style. πŸ™‚
