Silly Sunday

Sunday is the place to come for weekly laughs. The rules are simple, just have fun.

This is a great opportunity to get to know other bloggers and have a laugh or two in the process. Here is how it works: Laugh and Link Up!

Odds and Ends:

A father was approached by his small son who told him proudly, “I know what the Bible means!” “Okay,” said his father. “What does the Bible mean?””That’s easy, Daddy….” the young boy replied excitedly,” It stands for ‘Basic Information Before Leaving Earth.'”

There was a very gracious lady who was mailing an old family Bible to her brother in another part of the country. “Is there anything breakable in here?” asked the postal clerk. “Only the Ten Commandments.” answered the lady.

Somebody has said there are only two kinds of people in the world. There are those who wake up in the morning and say, “Good morning, Lord,” and there are those who wake up in the morning and say, “Good Lord, it’s morning.”

Oh these are good. Of course since I'm headed off to work this morning I was saying "Good Lord it's morning" πŸ™‚ Have a great day

    • April 19, 2015 10:53 am at 10:53 am

Yes, and you go to work mighty early. Way too early for me. πŸ™‚

  3. April 19, 2015 2:50 am at 2:50 am

The last one is my favorite, and I think it depends on the morning.

    • April 19, 2015 10:54 am at 10:54 am

You've a point Rhonda. It depends on the morning for me too. πŸ™‚

  4. April 19, 2015 5:05 am at 5:05 am

I like the second one. But they are all good. They all made me smile big time. So Sandee, Zane and Little Bit, your job is to have a good day.

    • April 19, 2015 10:55 am at 10:55 am

I love to make you smile Marg. You have a good day too. Scritches to all the babies, πŸ™‚

  5. April 19, 2015 5:05 am at 5:05 am

Good morning, Lord, for me, even though I am a slow morning person who likes to ease gently into the day. Can I send yall some of this rain?

    Big hugs, honey…

    • April 19, 2015 10:55 am at 10:55 am

I don't like to rush into the day either. Nice and slow with coffee works for me. πŸ™‚

  6. April 19, 2015 5:25 am at 5:25 am

I love mornings. One of my least appreciated qualities by most people, I'm afraid. πŸ˜‰

Have a wonderful day, Sandee! big hugs xoxo

    • April 19, 2015 10:56 am at 10:56 am

Hubby is a night person and I'm a morning person. Mornings are the very best time of day for me too. πŸ™‚

  7. April 19, 2015 5:45 am at 5:45 am

I've always said "Good morning, Lord," since I survived my stroke. I was suppose to pass away but I guess I was needed so each morning I say "Good morning, Lord," and before I go to sleep, I also say " Good night Lord and thank you."
Have a wonderful, relaxful Sunday Sandee. See ya.

    Cruisin Paul

    • April 19, 2015 10:56 am at 10:56 am

I love you you are so grateful for your existence Paul. It shows too. πŸ™‚

  8. April 19, 2015 5:51 am at 5:51 am

To be honest… on my two days off work I say, "Good morning, Lord." On days I work (like today), it's definitely "Good Lord it's morning." πŸ™‚ Love these Sandee and I hope you have a superb Sunday! Thanks very much for the smile. πŸ™‚

    • April 19, 2015 6:23 am at 6:23 am

Marcia is very sharp Joe. πŸ™‚

  10. April 19, 2015 6:30 am at 6:30 am

I'm a 'good lord, it's morning person' lately. I SO wish I could sleep in a day or two. I need the sleep!

    • April 19, 2015 11:00 am at 11:00 am

I have trouble with that sleeping in part too. Hubby does just fine, me not so much. πŸ™‚

  11. April 19, 2015 7:01 am at 7:01 am

It's the Vegas employees' lament about certain groups who hold conventions there. The participants arrive with a bible containing the 10 commandments and a 10 dollar bill. When they leave, neither have been broken.

    • April 19, 2015 11:01 am at 11:01 am

Love this Kismet. Not heard this before. πŸ™‚

  12. April 19, 2015 7:22 am at 7:22 am

  14. April 19, 2015 8:42 am at 8:42 am

Haha! I had a friend who said he took his kids to church to scare the hell out of them!

    • April 19, 2015 11:03 am at 11:03 am

Well, depending on the church that can work with little ones. All that fire and brimstone. It is scary for the little ones. πŸ™‚

  15. April 19, 2015 8:51 am at 8:51 am

What a fun acronym for Bible!

    • April 19, 2015 11:04 am at 11:04 am

Yes indeed. Works for me and I'd not heard it before. πŸ™‚

  16. April 19, 2015 12:43 pm at 12:43 pm

I asked someone how he was doing on the way into work one day and he said, "Any day I wake up above ground is a good day." That was a good way of looking at it!

    • April 20, 2015 10:08 am at 10:08 am

My favorite saying is that I'm on the right side of the dirt. Same thing. πŸ™‚

  17. April 19, 2015 12:50 pm at 12:50 pm

yep there are way too many who do the latter! Have a great Sunday!! We love you!

    • April 20, 2015 9:58 am at 9:58 am

  18. April 19, 2015 2:26 pm at 2:26 pm

Good Lord, it's Silly Sunday! c-)

      It certainly is Odie. πŸ™‚

  19. April 19, 2015 7:01 pm at 7:01 pm

Good morning Sandee!!! πŸ™‚ It's Monday here and the sun is shining brightly and fiercely as it is 30 degrees as of 7:30 AM.

I am not a morning person but oftentimes I do say Good morning, Lord πŸ™‚

    • April 20, 2015 9:59 am at 9:59 am

I know you're not a morning person, but I'm guessing you say good morning Lord more than the other way around. πŸ™‚

  20. April 19, 2015 7:15 pm at 7:15 pm

I have been known to say "Good Lord it's Morning"… but that doesn't mean I don't want the Lord to have a good morning too LOL!

    • April 20, 2015 10:00 am at 10:00 am

      I hadn't thought about that. Excellent. πŸ™‚

  21. April 19, 2015 8:39 pm at 8:39 pm

Reminds me, I need to read mine more! Believe me it doesn't hurt!

    • April 20, 2015 10:00 am at 10:00 am

It doesn't hurt one bit Ron. πŸ™‚

  22. April 19, 2015 11:09 pm at 11:09 pm

    Thank you for your prayers!
My mom signed and saved a Bible for my brother to give me on the day of her funeral. She dated it 12/25/1975, 40 years ago! xoxo

    • April 20, 2015 10:01 am at 10:01 am

So precious. I've been thinking about you. Big healing hugs. πŸ™‚

  23. April 20, 2015 9:03 am at 9:03 am

Nothing like a brush with death to turn a person from one that says, "Good Lord, it's morning," into one that says, "Good morning, Lord."

    • April 20, 2015 10:07 am at 10:07 am

This is very true. That really does change ones perspective about many things. πŸ™‚

  24. April 20, 2015 11:28 am at 11:28 am

Reading the Bible is a good thing. Leaving earth… the verdict is still out on that one.

    • April 20, 2015 11:31 am at 11:31 am

I agree Jason. We really don't know what's going to happen. πŸ™‚

  25. April 20, 2015 5:33 pm at 5:33 pm

And they probably broke every one of them.

    • April 21, 2015 8:08 am at 8:08 am

Every last one I'm sure Binky. πŸ™‚
