Dear Abby

Dear Abby, Our son writes that he is learning judo. Why would a boy who was raised in a good Christian home turn against his own?

Dear Abby, I joined the Navy to see the world. I’ve seen it. Now how do I get out?

Dear Abby, My forty-year-old son has been paying a psychiatrist $50.00 an hour every week for two and a half years. He must be crazy.

Dear Abby, I was married to Bill for three months and I didn’t know he drank until one night he came home sober.

Dear Abby, My mother is mean and short tempered. I think she is going through mental pause.

Dear Abby, You told some woman whose husband had lost all interest in sex to send him to a doctor. Well, my husband has lost all interest in sex and he is a doctor. Now what do I do?

Seymour would be happy to answer all of those questions, if Dear Abby passed on them.

I would love to hear Seymour weigh in on these. πŸ™‚

These are great, and Mental Pause is a perfect name for it.

I'll bet these are all real. People really are funny even when we don't mean to be. Love the 'mental pause'.

Coming home sober can be a problem for some.

    • February 10, 2015 at 7:23 am

It sure can Joe. It sure can. πŸ™‚

  9. February 10, 2015 at 7:00 am

She didn't answer those because she couldn't say in public what she really wanted to say.

    • February 10, 2015 at 7:24 am

I'm guessing you're right. I sure would have loved to be a fly on the wall to know what she really said. πŸ™‚

  10. February 10, 2015 at 7:17 am

    Hahaha! Those were funny!

    • February 10, 2015 at 7:24 am

Funny and most are sad too. πŸ™‚

  11. February 10, 2015 at 8:26 am

Those can't be real. Maybe they're just trying to be funny. People can't be THAT stupid, can they? Yikes!

    • February 10, 2015 at 10:18 am

They can and are that stupid. Yes indeed. πŸ™‚

I've always had my doubts about anyone who goes to a shrink! I suspect most shrinks are somewhat nutty to begin with too!

    • February 10, 2015 at 10:18 am

Yes, they are Ron. You nailed the shrinks very nicely. πŸ™‚

  13. February 10, 2015 at 11:49 am

Is her daughter doing the column now? And yes, I'm guessing that woman's son is still crazy if his psychiatrist hasn't fixed him yet!

    • February 10, 2015 at 1:04 pm

I think so Stephanie. Her name is Amy. I agree about the son too. πŸ™‚

Good afternoon Sandee. Sorry for not writing this morning. I've been very busy dealing with my mother's estate. Maybe I need Dear Abby? Ha,ha,ha. Have a great Tuesday good friend. I'll be writing my blog tomorrow if no more problems involving the estate pop up. See ya.

That last person, her case is hopeless — doctors won't go to the doctor! Heeheehee!

    • February 10, 2015 at 1:06 pm

That's very true. I know a few doctors and they are terrible patients and that's if you can get them to see a doctor. πŸ™‚

  17. February 10, 2015 at 1:39 pm

It's funny and kind of scary at the same time. πŸ™‚

  19. February 10, 2015 at 2:37 pm

Maybe the navy guy should invest $50 a week to see a psychiatrist. That should get him out of the navy

    • February 10, 2015 at 3:17 pm

You have a point here Ann. Excellent idea. πŸ™‚

  20. February 10, 2015 at 5:31 pm

I can only imagine the kinds of letters she would get. I'm guessing these are the mild ones. πŸ™‚

    • February 10, 2015 at 6:38 pm

I'm guessing you're right. I'll be there are some that couldn't be printed. πŸ™‚

  21. February 10, 2015 at 6:20 pm

I think mental pause can be cured by judo.

    • February 10, 2015 at 6:38 pm

You just might be right Binky. πŸ™‚

Funny! I like the “wanted to see the world”; “how do I get out”. My dad was in the Air Force so we lived in Japan and Okinawa for a few years before settling in America. He retired in Arizona which is how I landed here. For kids, it’s a good life though. Very safe. As kids, we could walk just about anywhere and no one had to worry whether the pool, the library or our friend’s house.
