Oh, poor Anton! I hope they catch him and bring him home soon! And I guess the “No kangaroos in Austria” T-shirts and souvenir business is gonna take a hit… but an upwards or downwards hit? hmm…

Guess what day this is? Anybody? big humpday hugs hon! xoxo

    • January 29, 2015 at 10:28 am

I thought yesterday was humpday? Big hugs back. 🙂

I would imagine that drugs are smuggled in prosthetic limbs a lot more often than we would imagine.

    • January 29, 2015 at 10:29 am

You wouldn't believe the places people hide their dope and tobacco. 🙂

  3. January 29, 2015 at 3:44 am

Poor Bart the cat, how could people bury their cat alive? Glad it was able to dig its way out!

    • January 29, 2015 at 10:29 am

I'm glad Bart the cat is okay too. Poor thing. 🙂

  4. January 29, 2015 at 4:35 am

I just heard about the cat on the radio yesterday. Incredibly creepy story!

    • January 29, 2015 at 10:29 am

He's one lucky cat though. 🙂

  5. January 29, 2015 at 5:06 am

When you put your pet in a mini-tux or wedding dress and they bark, they're saying, "Just shoot me now."
Animals seem to be incredibly resilient. In my life, I have accidentally hit two dogs with my car. When I went back to check on them, they were gone! I could have sworn that I had killed them, but they left the scene of the accident before I could get to them and see if they needed medical attention.

    • January 29, 2015 at 10:30 am

I don't dress up our baby. She wouldn't like it one bit. 🙂

  6. January 29, 2015 at 5:34 am

Now that's some mighty weird stuff. I actually heard about the kitty. Poor thang.

    Big, blustery hugs, honey…

    • January 29, 2015 at 10:30 am

Yep, weird news happens often. 🙂

  7. January 29, 2015 at 6:28 am

    LOL…
DH told me he heard on the radio that a woman was pulled over because of driving a stolen vehicle. She said, "I know it's stolen, because my boyfriend stole it and gave it to me." When the police arrested her she asked them `why`. They explained, again, she was driving a stolen vehicle. She said, "I know, but I didn't think it was that stolen!"

    • January 29, 2015 at 10:31 am

That gal had to be a blonde right? I thought so. 🙂

  8. January 29, 2015 at 7:08 am

What some people do is always amazing. LOL

    • January 29, 2015 at 10:31 am

      Indeed it is Jean. 🙂

  9. January 29, 2015 at 7:49 am

That poor cat that was in our paper too aww!

Have a supertastic day Sandee :-h

    • January 29, 2015 at 10:32 am

That poor cat indeed, but at least it's on the mend. 🙂

  10. January 29, 2015 at 8:01 am

    Aren't kangaroos from Austria?

    • January 29, 2015 at 10:32 am

I think they are from Australia actually. 🙂

  11. January 29, 2015 at 8:54 am

Well those are all interesting stories. So glad that cat dug himself out. I know nothing about kangaroos but I thought they were in Australia. Sandee, you have a super day.

    • January 29, 2015 at 10:33 am

You're right Marg. Kangaroos are indeed native to Australia. 🙂

  12. January 29, 2015 at 9:39 am

I'm going with the Maui Fisherman as the fake!

    What? Wrong post?

No wonder I can never slip a fake one buy you.

    • January 29, 2015 at 10:33 am

No, these are all true Joe. I don't do the fake headlines. That's your gig. 🙂

  13. January 29, 2015 at 9:45 am

The cat story is indeed unique. The poor thing was probably just knocked unconscious, the owner thought it wasn't breathing, and after a couple of days left alone to sleep an recover, it woke and clawed its way out.

The amazing ways animals get people into trouble, not because of them but because of us, never ceases to astound me!

    • January 29, 2015 at 10:34 am

It never ceases to astound me either. 🙂

  14. January 29, 2015 at 10:22 am

lordy- proving once again that sometimes animals are smarter than humans…..

    • January 29, 2015 at 10:34 am

Most of the time animals are smarter than humans. 🙂

  15. January 29, 2015 at 10:46 am

Ahhh, that's what I expected a caiman to be from the description, but I had to go and look it up!! Too funny!!

    • January 29, 2015 at 10:54 am

That kid was lucky he survived the caiman. I'm just saying. 🙂

  16. January 29, 2015 at 12:38 pm

Facts are stranger than fiction. Really funnier as well.

    • January 29, 2015 at 2:01 pm

I agree some of the best news is weirdness. 🙂

  17. January 29, 2015 at 1:50 pm

roche' said there should be a story about how he got to florida. he's sad. i have to go buy him something now.

    xoxo

    • January 29, 2015 at 2:01 pm

At least he's feeling better this week. You know he sure is an expensive pet rock. 🙂

  18. January 29, 2015 at 3:27 pm

I heard the one about the zombie cat because it happened right here in town, but the others were news to me. Thanks for sharing the weirdness.

    • January 29, 2015 at 4:04 pm

I love weird news stories. Some are happy and some are just plain dumb. I'm easily entertained. 🙂

  19. January 29, 2015 at 4:01 pm

We heard about the kitty and can't believe that! He did look like a zombie but thankfully he's going to be okay!

Hope your week is going well Sandee! Smooches to Little Bit!

    • January 29, 2015 at 4:05 pm

Yes, thankfully the kitty will be okay. Bless it's heart. 🙂

aw poor kitty. glad he was able to dig himself out

    • January 29, 2015 at 5:25 pm

And he's recovering. He lost an eye and had his jaw wired shut, but he's going to make it. 🙂

  21. January 29, 2015 at 5:02 pm

What a great idea for a post! My favorite news story is: "A kangaroo is on the loose in frigid and snowy Austria, hopping his way toward dispelling a famous slogan."

I feel sorry for this Kangaroo. I love Comedy Plus. Just stopping by to say hello. 🙂

    Have a great evening Sandee.

    xoxoxo

    • January 29, 2015 at 5:27 pm

And Anton doesn't want to be caught either. He'll take a hike as soon as anyone tries to rescue him.

I love Annie. So there. 🙂

  22. January 29, 2015 at 5:09 pm

Wow. Some odd stories, for sure. I hadn't heard any of these!

    • January 29, 2015 at 5:28 pm

They are all true Stephanie. 🙂

  23. January 29, 2015 at 5:51 pm

Good for Bart—-at least the car didn't win this one. Or is Bart a Zombie cat now?

    • January 29, 2015 at 6:00 pm

No, he's healing up fine. It will take a bit but he's a lucky one. 🙂

  24. January 29, 2015 at 6:20 pm

That reminded me of a song they sang on Zoom… my goodness almost 40 years ago or more? "But the cat came back, the very next day…" "They thought it was a goner but the cat came back, he just couldn't stay away…" So funny!

    • January 30, 2015 at 8:17 am

I remember that song. Now it's stuck in my head. Not a bad thing though. 🙂

  25. January 29, 2015 at 9:11 pm

Hmmm… I am unaware of the famous Austrian slogan. Nothing like discovering your harmless lizard has a mean set of teeth

    • January 30, 2015 at 8:17 am

      Pretty scary actually. 🙂

  26. January 29, 2015 at 9:17 pm

OK I just Googled Famous Austrian slogan & discovered No Kangaroos In Austria T-Shirts so now I am enlightened.
If you like Odd News you'd probably enjoy fellow Australian, not Austrian, Tanya's blog at http://frigginloon.wordpress.com/ she posts some funny & weird news reports that are always good for a laugh

    • January 30, 2015 at 8:17 am

The story is real Tony. Honest. 🙂

    January 29, 2015 at 9:20 pm

Thanks, Sandee. I like your odd. Too, I heard the headline about the buried ran over cat on the TV this morning but missed the story. Baby crocodiles and alligators make nice pets. If they are tamed they will be okay "just before" they outgrow the toilet flushing specs.

    • January 30, 2015 at 8:18 am

I love odd stories Jim. And some people have pets that they should have. 🙂

  28. January 30, 2015 at 12:26 pm

The caiman will probably have a better life at the zoo anyway.

    • January 30, 2015 at 3:11 pm

Much better life. I agree Binky. 🙂

Looks like Anton was recaptured after living 4 months in the rough. However in the summer of 2016 another kangaroo in Austria named Nanni made her escape. I wonder if they ever recaptured her. Makes you wonder how many kangaroos there are in Austria if they keep escaping
