Happy New Year

indexLook For The Good

In the New Year, let’s resolve to get less stressed, upset, anxious about things over which we have no control. Lets have a narrower focus on our lives, loving and helping our family and friends, making our community a better place to live, to create peace and contentment.

In the New Year, let’s resolve to pay less attention to depressing stories on TV, in magazines and newspapers, and to stop focusing on what we want that we haven’t got, instead of appreciating the many blessings we do have.

In the New Year, let’s look for the good. We may have to search through a mass of negative media, but the good is there, all around us.

Thanks Rhonda. Happy New Year to you and yours too. πŸ™‚

I resolved to do most of those things since before the first Obama election. I've managed not only to NOT watch the news but I did it without missing it one little bit. No more talking heads with their opines, misinformation, outright lies and rhetoric, tyvm. I am much happier for it, too. srsly.

More fun, family and friends! And cruises, if I am lucky! πŸ˜‰

Happy Nerw Year, Sandee and Zane! big hugs xoxo

It has been pretty depressing hasn't it. We try to limit or eliminate all the negative. Doesn't always work, but we try.

      Happy New Year honey. πŸ™‚

We were only saying, yesterday, that the media rarely publish good news any more. They always ended our TV News with an uplifting piece, years ago. It's a pity they still don't do that. They brought out a 'Good News' paper a while back and sales were so poor, they stopped it. It seems we love the bad stuff. We only watch the news, if there is a major story going on and we stopped buying newspapers years ago, for that reason.

Here's hoping you have a 'Good News' year!

    • January 1, 2015 at 9:58 am

Glad to know it's not just here. The media thrives on the negative. I love the feel good stories too.

Happy New Year to you and Mo. πŸ™‚

Look for the good … that could be my motto. It's what I try to do. I believe it makes me (overall) a happy person. πŸ™‚

Sometimes we need a shovel to get to the good, but it's worth the extra work. πŸ™‚

Happy 2015 to all of you. I disagree with the quote. If we only look for the good and ignore the bad instead of trying to eliminate the bad, we'll have a lot more bad.

    • January 1, 2015 at 10:01 am

I think some of the bad is fabricated. In fact much of it is. Got to keep folks divided. I'm sick of it. πŸ™‚

    Right on!
Focus on that which we can control… our attitude and our actions.
Anything else is beyond our control.

    • January 1, 2015 at 10:02 am

We can't control what we can't control. All it does is give us ulcers. Not worth it. Happy New Year Skip. πŸ™‚

Excellent- that about sums up my little conversation with myself this morning….
